Malta...

This tiny photo is the only one I can find of our landlord Tony Mercecia in Zerafa Street in Malta in 1957......

Dina on Malta daily photo, kindly took a photo a while ago
of how it is today, and I can hardly believe that Tony's was the only car in the road as nowadays the road is filled with them....

Dive would probably be able to make a better job of it, but!!!!!!anyway the x on the side is where our front door was to our flat......where Dive lived till he was 3 months old!!!

Afternoon bliss!!!

This is Charlie cat proving that he can reach parts that us humans cannot!!!!The other two cats thought we were too noisy!!
I was lucky enough to be invited out for another one of Julies gorgeous lunches with some of her and Alan's family..
How about this one he does love the camera... he is Oscar the same name as my little ginger boy!!!!! (not Dive or Full)!! my cat! he loves being at his nanny and grandads...come to that so do I! Earlier I had borrowed Wellies (as luck would have it Julie and I share the same shoe size)!!!!so while Julie did her magic in the kitchen Alan, Sherdan and Ivan did some gardening, Oscar and I went walk about, little monkey took me all over the place, it' s so good to see the boys able to climb trees and chase about in an orchard, lucky them...
And this is Sherdan and he will break many a girls heart me thinks!!!!!just look at those innocent eyes....no wonder the camera blurred...sorry handsome....
Here are some of the family party ....unfortunately poor Bailey had not been well so daddy John, her and Charlie cat had a nap while Julie, Michelle, Ivan and I watched to see if Alan had won on the horse racing on TV!
Thanks again folks for a great lunch and the company was as always lovely...
Also for the other super lunch out on the Sunday will have to starve for the rest of the week......
This getting spoilt is rather nice..

Beauty and the Beast

Once again I have been spoilt!! went to Norwich Theatre Royal last night with a friend and saw the above....
I was very impressed with the Beast!!! especially his voice, sent shivers down your spine..actually once or twice I was surprised with the lighting and effects, made me jump a couple of times, although there were lots of children there, they seemed to really like it, well it was a Disney fantasy, but so well done..
Really good night, thanks Ivan, sorry about the terrible weather!!!!

Recently have met up with some friends I had lost contact with, but we go back a long way, and am happy to know we are still friends and I have started to see them again....Julie had a party for her birthday and I was invited... lucky me......

These two beautiful youngsters were at the party I was invited to yesterday, what a happy pair..
there is another young lady in the background but sorry did not quite get her in, but we had a good game of table tennis!!!!!

This is Sherard!!!!!!It was his 10th birthday yesterday as well as Julie's ..!!!!!!!.....birthday who the barbi cake was made for.....
But this handsome young man was pleased with his cake as well.. pity I did not make that one it was very good.....he was also better than me at table tennis!!

Thanks Alan ,Julie and Ivan for a great party day, the food and company was great.....
Now here is barbi!!!! I just made the cake and Ivan iced it.....this pic I took at the party before we ate it!!!!!!!!

Flixton pt 2

A statue of a Pilot of 1940, very impressive......
Some uniforms that bring back many memories.....
John worked on these Meteors in the 50's.. I have loads of the other planes Dive and Full but you can see them when you come over here....
This is what evoked the memories for me though.. seeing how we used to live, it does make one realise just how lucky we are nowadays with all the things we have now .. I wonder if the youngsters appreciate what they have to what was?
Of course we always had fresh vegetables home grown and made our own bread, just the doodlebugs over head here that bothered us in those days.....

Flixton pt 1

Just a little taste of where we went last week... have so many photo's that I am trying to sort a few at a time so as not to bore people....as Dive and Fulls Dad was in the RAF and a founder member of our local RAFA, so the boys and I have always been keen to have anything to remind us of how John loved to take us to many many airshows...
This museum is near here, and I was so surprised as to how it had come on since last we saw it....
This of course always reminds me of when we first went to Malta in the 50's the NAFFI was our number one place to go....
The tables wera all set out for a big show that is going on there today, I hope all goes well and they get lots of money they deserve it, they have made a grand place for visiters.
I know this mosaic is not like Dive and Katie saw, but could not resist it....
Not finished yet...
And this is of course a typical Dive shot!!! the one of Mum on the left!!!now you know why he has a weird sense of humour......

More of the plans and museum another day.....

Flixton Walk

Thursday ,Jan and Derek and I went to the Flixton Aviation Museum.. Think it had only started when the boys were little and we went there....what a difference... lots of memories there.....
I will put a few pics of that tomorrow, but we did not realise that they had opened a lovely walk down to the river, which you might like to see...
Jan started off ........
She dissapeared into the trees, so we followed... and what a joy it was hope you can get an idea from these....
The boardwalk takes you through wildlife heaven.... and there are signs about the wildlife at each turn.....a lot of work has been put in here....
We are so lucky to have such a place so close and we should have paid more visits, but will in the future.....
We reached the river and there are seats there a beautiful sunny spot, well it was the day we went...
There sat several dragonflies, and this one let me take its photo!!!!
Here is the view from the end of the walk.....
Will put some pics on of the museum later.... and sshh even got a bit of mosaic not as good as Dive's post but very pretty....

Once again thanks Jan and Derek lovely time as always
