A lovely way to spend a Sunday lunchtime…

The Norfolk Dixieland Jazz Band played in the courtyard at The Kings Arms Reepham…

Joining the band today was our friend Chris Capocci as Bill was not able to play, so some singing as well as the trombone…

The Boys all looked good as usual in their Blue's… and played really well, so good to see such laughter and fun as well as great music and singing…

missed Vic on the drums in all these…

Typically after all the singers last week, we will hope to see Jenny/Simon or Roy…to add some vocals throughout the evening…

8pm-10.30pm

Another great night at Jazz on Thursday night, some good solos, Craig kept everyone on their toes with some of his great drumming, nice silver drums this week !  Mel gave us a couple of his gravelly voiced ditty's…

As above and more, as Simon  was there to sing for us and Roy, also our Jenny in good voice, so nice to see her getting her voice going again.

Another really good crowd as well, glad it is such a good venue.

It was a very hot evening, but with the doors open so the band and us listeners could wander in the break and get some lovely air…

Thanks again to the Band yet another different sound, we are so lucky to have such a range of musicians each week.

Thanks also to Heidi another good job of work.

Next week I believe we are being entertained by "Cool Blue"…

Video from Roy's jazz night…

A hand held little video, so a bit shaky, they were late starting however decided to put it all on as the music is great and Simon's voice smooth……I know you cannot get a  real good sound from my little camera but I do hope you enjoy …

Roy's night…

Roy's band (do not like to call it Romping Roy as he usually goes by),  were playing last night at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, and it turned out to be quite a night…

As well as those I put on the below post, we had Peter on guitar, so that was good, great guitarist…

Then a nice surprise  for the audience … Ron Hockett and his buddy Bill came along with their Clarinets, and joined in for several numbers, which was just wonderful, and how well Roy's band played with them,. a big pat on the back to one and all.

Barry and Peter gave us a song as well as Roy…Our Jennie  sang a little number, nice to have her singing again… we also had Simon Denny giving us some of his melodic melodies, very nice.

We  had two women singers names which elude me…who sang several vocals so it did turn into a night of rather a lot of songs,  for me anyhow.

However the music was really really great, and a huge crowd of people to support the band, some new faces as well as the regulars so hope they all enjoyed it. I would think as far as the musicians that played one of the best talented musical evenings that we have been to without having to pay an entrance fee…

I did a little video which is good of everyone, nice sound, but not sure if I will post it on here, I will see if I can remember how…if not you will have to come round here if you want to listen to it!!!!.

Heidi you did really well again coping with all the people.

Roy Ron Bill

Barry sorry I have got a hat on you!

Norfolk Dixie Land Jazz Band…

Great Sunday lunchtime at The Goat …Skeyton
A very good Pub and Restaurant …With rather good staff…

Wonderful jazz music …great food … good company… Thanks as always Tim for taking me, and for the lovely lunch…Judy and Jean great to see you again, thanks for looking after me!

Nice to see our 3 'boys' from Thursday night jazz and thanks for the company…

They look so smart in their Blue…

The weather was not good so the band had to keep indoors… unlike last month when the sun shone on us all and the band played in the open air… still August 3rd gig may see better weather…

Sole Bay Jazz…

A good night of different jazz at the Sports Pavilion last evening…

A nice crowd came along to listen to the live music, A bit different as I said, as some of the gentlemen had music to read, nice arrangements that some of them were not sure of, but it was very talented,  I as you all know personally do prefer it when they just play freely, so they have some fun as well, but that may be because I was not in a receptive  mood last night… however they are very very good  and we did have some unusual musical themes…

We did however have some great fun when Tony Parsons gave us his Russian song, it took some by surprise, I think we have a little video somewhere of when he performed it before a long while ago, Not sure if some of the non regular folk realised what was going on……Simon Denny came along to sing some very moving melodies…, and Roy Symonds sang and entertained everyone with his usual aplomb, He and his 'Romping Roy's Boys will be along next week to entertain us all by the way, as some of the Sole Bay have other summer commitments…

Thanks to Jazz Janet who took over the raffle as I was a bit under par! well done I appreciated you doing it and of course the band does as well……

Thanks Heidi as always, and hope you soon feel better…

So good to see so many people turning up to support these fine musicians each week… Thank you all from the band…keep coming as lots more in store for everyone…
