Easter Jazz…

Another night of jazz at the Pavilion Ditchingham, and a nice crowd to support the musicians considering the bitter weather… well done for turning out…

The heating I am informed is not Jon's fault (sorry Jon) but it is very cold inside as well as out, but some of the music got us going, and Roy's vocals cheered us all up.

Thanks Emma for taking over the bar from Heidi, you did well…
and hope you had a good birthday Heidi.

Spring is trying…

Just had a wander around the garden as the sun was shining, But bitter wind, still better than more snow!
But the flowers always manage to say hello!

Spring is on it's way…

Peregrine update…

Our Norwich Peregrines have now got two eggs, the wind is very strong there, but they seem to be coping. Thank goodness the snow never got too bad.

The Nottingham Peregrines are struggling with very deep snow.

Very interesting watching all that goes on in the feathered world.

SOLE BAY JAZZ NIGHT 21st March

Another good night of music from the  Sole Bay line up last night…

The two Bill's…Tim…Tony…Alan…and Dave played us some great jazz, and Roy gave us some rather yummy vocals with his usual panache…

A horrible cold windy night outside and not too warm in…but keeping the legs going with the beat and clapping kept the hands warm, maybe Jon we need the heating on again! Roll on Spring! Oh forgot this is Spring!

Heida glad you are still managing to cope, take care of that bump!

Thanks to one and all for the great chat and fun… nice to see a nice crowd …looking forward to next week already…

Thanks Sole Bay great talent…

Tim,Tony,Bill S,Dave,Bill B,Alan…
Bill blowing his all!

Raining again

This weather is getting a lot of people down, me included!

So thought I would post a nice photo of Oscar who has the right idea when the weather is not great!

Get in front of the fire (hating the thought of the heating bill) and cuddle his play mouse!

Whoops should have changed colour in the top one in photo shop! and yes Boys I know he is too fat!

SOLE BAY JAZZ…

Last night at the Pavilion, yet another different evening of music, more laid back than recently.

A good crowd, a lot of the regular fans were missing, but making up for them a nice crowd of new and 'sometimes' folk! The word is obviously spreading that these talented musicians get together on a Thursday night to supply us with some feel good music.

As I said a little quieter music as only the famous five, but some great duets from Tim and Derek on sax and clarinet…

A guest…  Stella… came along with a song, and Roy did his job of cheering us all up with his vocals and high kick! which I notice Derek showed he could do as well even sitting on a stool.

Lovely to see you looking better Heidi, do not overdo things young lady!

Hope to see a good crowd next Thursday with another great line up.

Thanks Sole Bay…

Tony.Tim.Craig.Derek.Alan…
Roy giving his usual happy songs…

Tim Densham…and Derek Cubitt… playing sax/clarinet…

COOL BLUE

Cool Blue will be performing again at the
Butchers Arms Public House, London Road Beccles.

This Sunday 3rd March…

So pop along and enjoy these talented Swing/Jazz/Blues players, the music and the singing is so good…

Well dear Neil has come up trumps again with a little mardle as he calls it about today's Cool Blue Gig thanks as always Neil…

Just a brief 'mardle' in place of Beryl, who normally would wish to post words:

Line-up:
Simon Denny (voc) … Barry Langston (keys/voc) … Craig Hipperson (drums) … Lin Mileham (saxes) … Mick Betts (bass guitar) ... Alan Cugnoni (rhythm guitar)

Impromptu guests:
Ray Simmons (tpt/keys) ... Dave Taylor (drums)... Amanda Humphry (voc)

Really entertaining couple of sets, appreciated by an audience which seems to be increasing in number every month. As always, a great job all round, Simon singing and carrying most of the burden of up-front presentation, backed up by all of the other musicians who dovetailed to present a fine performance.

A pleasant surprise guest was Amanda Humphry, who clearly enjoyed herself and 'held her own' well in the company of a great band of entertainers.

Sole Bay Swinging Night

Last night at the Pavilion Ditchingham, the Sole Bay played their talented music with a good crowd to applaud them, it was soooooo good. Tim back off holiday, Derek as always jazzing away, Ray giving some great trumpet playing, Tony that string bass is magic when he plays… Alan banjo/guitar beating out, and that young Craig what a drummer, brought such joy to all. Roy singing wow a good night…

Not only for the fact that I was able to get back to my night out (thanks June for taking me) but to meet up with my dear friends… not been nice to miss you all so much …thanks for the welcome back, and a special thank you and hug to Jazz Janet who has been so kindly and very aptly been helping out with the raffle, while I have been absent…and which as we all know helps us to encourage the band to play for us.  How great to have such good music for free nowadays…

Glad you had a good birthday Sandy and the off key Happy Birthday tune was so great…

Neil kindly took my camera and snapped a few photos, cheeky wanting to know where the close up lens was ha ha, but think they are good Neil so thank you.

Also a huge thanks to Roy who stepped up once again to give us some great vocals and lots of fun…

Thanks as always to the lovely Heidi, that bump looks well, you are a real treasure…

It was a real fun night looking forward to next week already.

Alan has a great line up once again…which I will post when have it officially…
