Sole Bay Jazz 30th July…

We all expected with that line up it would be a good night at the Sports Pavilion, with the Sole Bay Jazz Band, but could not believe when so many people turned up, and then the Band just gave us a terrific evening of great music, some really good arrangements,  super solo's and nice the band were  enjoying themselves as well as the audience, so Thank you Sole Bay Gentlemen, you certainly entertained.

As for the crowd do not think we have had so many people, a lot of new faces, as well as our regulars. I do hope that  it will not put people off with the lack of chairs, but some do bring their garden chairs, otherwise be prepared to stand!

Thank you for digging deep once again for the raffle, of course not only is there prizes, but it helps Alan get these great line ups to entertain us each week. as no entrance fee is charged, we all think ourselves very lucky to listen to live music for the sake of a few £'s.

Thanks Jan for taking us and with the boys  helping to fold the tickets…
Heidi grand job you did with all that crowd! Keith for sorting the raffle…in fact so great to have such a lovely friendly crowd of like minded people enjoying themselves.

Just a few photos of the Sole Bay Gentlemen looking serious on here!

Sole Bay Jazz Band with friends…

Every week it seems we have another great evening of live music at the Sports Pavilion. in Ditchingham.

A really good crowd attending even if many of the regulars are in holiday or unwell, amazing that so many people seem to come along to support live music. needing more chairs really, glad some bring garden ones! A few new faces appearing each week…

Different evening of music again with the line up, such talent, we had Roy give us some vocals as well as Simon was unwell.

Another evening rather warm in the Club, however lots of doors open, for the little breeze there was.

Thanks as always Heidi, sorry you have so much chat down that end, you worked hard and keeping the smile going. Fudge great mystery looks ha ha. wish could stop some people shouting when the solos are being played, we all chat during the evening …and I annoy a lot when collecting the raffle money from the late comers when the band is playing…pity though when single players are entertaining us all.But of course it is a social evening and lovely for friends to meet up each week.

Thanks for those who dig deep for the raffle as that helps to keep the band going, I know I say that a lot as well (as about the loud chat) however it is hard for Alan to find these talented musicians each week without your support, most places charge an entrance fee, we are so lucky that we get the band for a few £'s and the chance of winning that 1st prize!!!!So keep digging deep please… As always thanks Keith for organising, it is not easy I know with you and Sheila not in the best of health, but worth it to you I know to get there every week.

Must thank June also Les for helping with the folding of tickets, As our usual helpers were on holiday, we have had a lot of people suggest how to change the raffle, however I still think folk like to line up their tickets on the tables so we will stick to the system…

So thanks Sole Bay and guests another lovely evening…already looking forward to next week, will put the line up on when Alan sends it to me.

Sole Bay Jazz with Simon

Not sure that this shows how good everyone is …Simon with the Band…and I do apologise for the shaking of camera, but it was fun…pity I did not tell everyone that I was making a video! whoops…
Will try harder in future… but if anyone in the band objects to this let me know and I will delete it! if not enjoy.

Sole Bay Jazz Band with guests …

I really do not know where to start this week, as every week the band seems to be so different and so good, but this week again what a great night from 7 terrific talented players, plus vocals from Simon as well as Tony P. It gets better…

A good crowd including several newcomers again came along to support the Band, lots of chat, but suppose we have come to accept that… thank goodness we are at the front, and I am sorry if it annoyed people who were trying to listen.

Not enough chairs as always as we seem to get more and more attending, good job some bring garden chairs! Thanks to everyone who really dig deep  for the raffle which enables Alan to find these musicians every week.

Thanks Heidi you did a grand job…Thanks to you know who for suppling the giggles!

Simon has sent me some photos so will put some of them with mine. When I can download them having a problem at the moment, may have to put them separate …Did a little video but will see what it sounds and looks like before putting it on here!

Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Another very good evening of entertainment with the Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Not only did we have the line up I posted, Ron Hockett came along to play as well, so one never knows who we will see at the Thursday evening gigs…The Band certainly had some fun as well as providing some really great music, nice to see the smiles, however my photos do not do them justice they are nearly all concentrating Craig did manage a smile for me though.

Thanks to a good crowd, even if a lot of the regulars were missing, nice to see that live music is appreciated.

Roy came along and gave us some vocals… also  a couple from Paris who are professional dancers, danced  the Tango for us that was different…Think everyone who has danced wanted to get up there as well!

Thanks for all those who contributed to the raffle which of course helps to get good musicians to play each week, Alan as always does a grand job of finding the mix of talented gentlemen to play live music to us, not an easy job, thanks of course to Keith who sorts the books and gets the raffle prizes ready, also thanks to for those who do give prizes. Keith has a birthday next Tuesday so Happy Birthday Keith, wishing you good health.

Norfolk Dixie Land Band

The Goat at Skeyton this Sunday, where the Norfolk Dixie Land Band were playing their monthly Sunday lunchtime gig, it was again very busy, a lot of the crowd coming to hear the Band.

It is always such a lovely lunchtime of jazz, and today think it sounded even better, such a talented group of musicians all enjoying themselves as well as providing us all with some great live music.

The rain stopped them playing outside, a lot of people love to hear the music while sitting in the sunshine, but today, after such a hot day Saturday they were unlucky, the rain decided they were playing inside…But sounding great. They also had a banjo player to sit in a couple of numbers.

Lovely to meet up with Jean and Judy again, thanks for the drinks ladies, and a nice lot of friendly folk as well as some of our Thursday night friends that go there.

Thanks as always Tim for putting up with my company, much appreciate you taking me and for the lunch.

Hope the photos are not too bad, do not like to get in peoples way so not able to get close ups, but they always look so nice in their Blue…

Got one of you Vic nice smile…

Sole Bay Jazz…

Yet another good evening of live music from the Sole Bay Jazz Band… at the Sports Pavilion…Ditchingham.

Only 5 musicians but sounding great…

I did take some photos but they were all rather blurred, even without any alcohol …me not the camera…

Tim and Trummy on the front line and our intrepid 3 on the back… Alan, Tony and Craig, and for a couple of numbers Gary took to the drums…

Roy came and gave us a couple of vocals as well, so a good evening.

Nice crowd, some new and some regulars, of course the weather was rather warm and everyone got over heated, the poor band were suffering, as only the fire doors that were open and one of them kept getting closed, only thing is they are fire doors and should not be sat in front, but we do get such a good crowd it is hard for that not to happen…Lots of loud chat again, but as we are at the front does not bother us to much, but glad to say when Mood Indigo was being played it was nice and quiet…

Thanks Heidi hope you can have a cool fan next week, although knowing our weather it may be cool again by then, you worked hard well done. We all need an extra intake of liquid on these humid days and nights.

Lovely to be among friends listening to talented musicians…Thanks Sole Bay you did is proud.
