More Sole Bay Magic…

Firstly I want to thank the talented Sole Bay for yet another great night of jazz
at Ditchingham last night.

Such different and very upbeat music and with a few songs from our Roy made the night out really wonderful, The blend last night was soooo good,
and the drumming was great Craig think you all realised how well you sounded.

Then on behalf of the Band a big thank you for all the folk who actually turned out in the cold foggy icy cold night for coming along and supporting them.

Special thanks to my friend June who braved my terrible slippery crunchy little road to pick me up in her shiny car. The first time I have been out ( apart from snow shovelling) for a week)! Thank you Heidi and Jon for opening for us and making sure the steps were not slippery
even though the car park was very snowbound…

Hope everyone got home safely… And hoping this horrible weather will soon clear so we can be safer on the roads…
Our Heidi with yet another great T Shirt…
I did not manage to get many photos and could not seem to get everyone in at once! as I was so enjoying the music…

Once again thank you so much to everyone for another Jazz night, we are so lucky…

And although I phoned the Suffolk County Council, they have not done a decent job of sorting this road out and the pavements are disgusting, so a big yuk to them and I will certainly grudge the Council Tax Bill this year, as not sure if I can get my car out onto the road for shopping this morning!

Max and Friend

Could not resist this one… Oh to be young and enjoying the snow!

Snow………

Well all that shifting of snow yesterday was good! or was it? as another lot came down last night…

Pity the Council cannot find us up here, as the roads and pavement are very dangerous, Oh dear I remember the days when the roads and paths were cleared, and we had lots more snow than this, the children all walked or had sledges to school. Whatever has happened to our technology? Snow falls as promised and the whole Country falls apart.

Sorry but wish all those snow ploughs at the airports could come and clear the roads so that ordinary people who live in this Country could lead their lives instead of jetting off, Sorry just a rant, must be because I am stuck in and dare not go for a walk as scared of slipping over.

The Schools as well…lovely memories of walking to school and no heating when we got there, playing snowball fights in the playground, but nowadays the schools shut and the children all go out in the snow and play all day, Is it just me? Health and Safety gone mad!

Still I suppose it is getting lots of indoor work done here, things that have not been done for ages, and shifting snow has kept me busy!

Keep safe all those who have to venture out, maybe the Council will come and dig us out and we can get onto the roads that have thankfully been cleared, in the meantime, back to the housework…Thank goodness for the computer!

Just a little addition for today…This morning  I rang the Suffolk County Council to see if I could make this Close and the road leading here a bit of a priority… They said they would do the best they could and lo and behold this afternoon at about 4pm the Suffolk Council lorry appeared and has spread a nice lot of grit on our Close, so hopefully with the thaw that has been promised we will be able to get out and about again shortly, at the moment it is all turning to a horrible grey brown slush! so if it does not freeze tonight, life should be getting back to normal!

Well we have had rather a large amount of snow here now, not sure if the gritters know we even exist up this end of town!

Off to get the snow shovel going again…

Oscar had a little look as you can see…
These I took about 6.30am this morning, roll on spring! Will have to get out an knock the snow off those poor bushes…

Take care those who have to go out in this!

Yet more snow…

Oscar had a fun time in the snow only by the time I got my camera he was calmed down and digging under the tree.

Hope the snow calms down today and people can get out and about, stay safe whatever you do…
I was inside in the warm so a bit blurred…

More Snow…

I hope everyone who has to get to work in this white stuff manage safely…looks like my snow shovel will be on the go here this morning…Pity the old snow plough does not come out nowadays, but the whole place comes to a standstill,  when the snow comes as the gritters cannot get past all the cars!
Popped my head out the door and took these out the front here, must get out to feed the birds they love the bushes and I can watch them from the kitchen window!

Wish some of the healthy folk on job seekers allowance could be persuaded to put some salt on the paths…would help us oldies to get out for a walk!

Have a good day and stay safe…

Tony Jullings Cowboy

I have decided that although this is not the best video I have done, from the time of getting over the shock at hearing Tony was going to sing it, could not get in a good position, and Tim did not realize I what I was trying to do… it is very ropey however I love the fact that the music is such fun so enjoy! (I hope).

You can hear from the applause at the end how much everyone enjoyed it, 'Our Professor of Magic' he really is. well done Tony…

Another Sole Bay Perfection

Roy having fun
How these talented musicians manage to give us fans a different sound  of jazz and swing each Thursday I do not know, but may they long keep it up.

I did a little video but again could not get steady enough but the sound is great it was Tony (the Prof) who gave us a great cowboy song, so again if anyone wants to hear it afraid you will have to pop round here and watch it. I do not like to put a video that is not up to standard…but to tease you it is great…

Alan, Bill B, Ray
What a great night not only did we have a good crowd who appreciated every piece the band played we had Roy coming to sing some lovely melodies, and Chris giving us his usual laid back songs.

our Professor…
Tim and Bill S…
Craig,Bill,Alan
Colin and Duncan my two torments…
This is our Heidi with her special bump, we love you young lady… keep well.
I have to say it again how lucky are we to have such good friends and great musicians…thank you.

maybe Ray Simmons will be there with his Piano…
and you never know we may have some vocals as well…

So come along and enjoy an evening of great Jazz and Swing…

Cool Blue plus more!

Sunday lunchtime at the Butchers Arms, Beccles, proved to be a rather different lunch time to what we expected as we not only had Cool Blue, but visitors as well…

I took a little video of Cool Blue playing Moon Dance as that is always a favourite, however have not had time to download it yet and reduce it for here, but will do that later if it is useable.

A wonderful amount of talent came together with the addition of 'friends' to give us and I think Ian the landlord, and the regulars, a surprising lunchtime…
Ron,Ray,Mick,Simon,Craig,Barry,Nigel…
I say it again we are lucky to have such great players in our region, and I am sure they appreciate the amount of fans they all have.

Thank you one and all for the music the company and looking forward to next time…

Have just checked the video…it is to wobbly to put on here, as I was too far back in the wrong place again! but anyone in the band who would like to see it you are welcome to pop in here and check it out…Sound is good though…
