Sole Bay Jazz with a buzz…

Each week we all wonder how the line up will work and every time we are blown away with the talent of the musicians…

This Thursday evening at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, the Sole Bay Jazz Band played to a large audience of regular fans and a nice lot of new people who came along, partly because our Fudge was getting married today, so wish her and her man a good marriage, and looking forward to you both coming along in the future, although the groom did tell me you can attend on your own!!!!!

We had a great line up and the vocals from Simon Nelson and Simon Denny, plus our Tony Parsons, also Roy Symonds, and some nice different music played so well from Tim…Simon N…Tony P…Alan…Tony J and our Craig those solos were terrific…how lucky are we…

Thanks Heidi my goodness you worked hard again still with that smile thank you.

A few photos…But if you want the sound come along for some live music on a Thursday evening…

Thanks Tony you looked up for me…

So thank you Sole Bay again another great night of live music…

Strawberry Tea…

Yesterday afternoon, the Lowestoft Lifeboat Committee put on a Strawberry Tea at Parkhill Hotel to raise money for the Lowestoft Lifeboats.

The committee always work very hard and are all volunteers, they provided us with a lovely array of sandwiches and cakes of course strawberries and cream and some great cups of tea…All set in a Marque beautifully draped and lovely white table cloths…

Our table was made up of some of the Thursday night Jazz crowd, great company thanks folks…so we sat near the band… Roy…Ian…Tony…Barry…Dave… and they entertained us with some great music and fun…they took some money for the charity by playing some requested music… have to say a big thank you to them as the one I requested was not one they usually play or Barry sings, but wow it was very good boys…

I hope they raised a lovely amount of money and hope they do it all again next year…

Thanks to one and all…Lovely afternoon even if it did rain, we were nice and dry…

I took some photos and then Neil managed to take one with my camera of Tony looking up! and of course he was snapping us all when I managed to snap him…

Nice dancing by the way! see you all Thursday night…

Sole Bay Jazz Talent…

Yet another great Thursday evening at the Sports Pavilion with the Sole Bay Jazz line up, giving us fans a fantastic night of live music…I never fail to appreciate  how each week with a different line up bringing us such music to our ears, how lucky we are…

With Tim/ Ron/ Tony P on the front line playing some superb music on  clarinet/saxophone/trombone, and Craig /Tony /Alan delivering the drums/guitar/banjo, and that string bass…

To add to that Tony P vocals, also Simon and Roy singing some different songs to a good crowd of people considering the Football (I think that is what they called it!) was on TV. well folks those who stayed at home missed a super night of live jazz and fun…

Thank as always to Heidi that smile does us all good!

I must thank those visitors who came along I do hope you enjoyed the music and saw what a lovely venue it is to watch all that talent. Nice to see some new faces as well as the regulars…

Thanks Sole Bay you did it again…also thanks to all you who let me talk you into buying raffle tickets it helps to contribute to these musicians who come and play for us every week. And of course there are prizes (some people do win)!

Hope to see a good crowd next week, Alan will be sorting the line up for me to pop on here.

Keep well and enjoy the Tennis those who like that, and suppose the football as well, truly not that I am against football, just that they are overpaid for what they do, in comparison to those hard working Nurses/Teachers etc…whoops better stop now…

Hi Fudge hope you are not getting nervous!

Alistair Griffin…

Good luck Alistair and co. on your coast to coast ride today…Raise lots of money…

Hope you will be singing  'The Road' along the way…and I am sure everyone will want to give you a rub down afterwards!

Garden Tea…

Yesterday afternoon went with some friends to a little garden tea at another friends house, her garden is so lovely and a wood that is hers as well…

I did not take any photos this year but last years are on my garden blog.

Thanks Jazz Janet and David for giving me a lift, and a huge thank you to Rosemary for a lovely afternoon, you must have an angel on your shoulder for the weather turned out perfect didn't it.

How lovely to be able to wander and chat with lovely jazz friends and eat good food, the dog, chickens and cat all wandering around amongst friends and the lovely wild garden set on the edge of the wood, what bliss.

So sorry that some who should have come could not get there because of all sorts of reasons, but hope Jenny and Terry enjoyed their doggy bag. Get better soon Jenny…

It was also Neil's Birthday so some good fun. loved the candle Sandy…I think we needed a bit more practice singing Happy Birthday!

Like mine, Rosemary's garden gets over run with all the roses and other flowers and the wild life meadow mmm very nice…but that is the beauty of nature and it was so good to be there. I am so lucky to have such lovely friends…

The old saying "you are nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth" was the last lines of a poem someone years ago wrote in my autograph book, which I have lost over the years but that stayed in my mind.

Thanks everyone look forward to next year God willing!

Sole Bay Jazz Band in full swing!

Last night at the Sports Pavilion, 5 talented players and two great vocalists's proved that you do not need a lot of people playing to make good music…

A nice crowd considering the Football was on…people on holiday or sick…and we all enjoyed a very different evening once again with a good mix of live jazz and some great moments..

It was non stop music and vocals and thanks Mel for the deep song …sang with gusto! and the banjo playing was great thank you.

Thanks again Heidi always a smile…

Thanks to all those digging deep moments you give for the raffle …as I keep saying it goes a long way to have these musicians playing every week, and without an entrance fee either we are so lucky.

I think everyone played at the top of their game and very entertaining as well…Craig those drums had a good time!!!!

Not many photos as battery ran out.

Thank you all for a great evening of live music…
