A bit of a squeeze in the car park, as a football match going on, well it is a sports club! but glad a good crowd did manage to park…

Whilst on the subject of the Club, could as many people as possible get the EDP Newspaper Saturday as in it will be a form, as they are in for some lottery money if they are successful… to put an all weather Cricket Pitch plus some changing rooms etc… Jon and Marilyn work hard to make it a great place, a lot of you did fill in a form the other night, but I believe this is for the actual grant, fingers crossed…

As for our Jazz night, what a lovely lot of music and fun, so thanks folks…

Another Present…

What a lucky old lady I am… still getting cards and also a present today from a dear friend from Alistair days…already had the beautiful orchid from her, and this morning received a cd of Alistair, as she had been to a gig, I played it twice before reading the label and Alistair had signed it… how I missed seeing that I do not know, and it has brought back lovely memories of the days when we all followed him around to every gig all over the country.

So thank you Lesley for the thought …and this is for any of my old pals who look in here,… thanks for the memories…And of course Alistair Griffin, keep going young man you have a great talent.

Oh another birthday treat yesterday,  a lovely meal and more presents… time with my Sons and Dawn what more could one want! getting old is not so bad after all!

Just had to take a couple of photos of these lovely flowers… Thanks Phil and Dawn the flowers  smell gorgeous …and the orchids are from a lovely friend from my 'Alistair' days'  (The al in my
cakesandal blog diary is from Alistair Griffin who I followed in the past years and met some great people, he is a great singer).

And thanks to some more friends from those days for your cards, amazing you still remember me, although I will never forget those days and all of you.

Birthday Treat…

Once again another year gone by! got spoilt again how lucky am I…

Just want to thank all my lovely friends for my wonderful cards and presents and Jan for taking me out for my birthday lunch today…All the phone calls and e mails, how good it is to have such nice family and friends.

We went to The Sole Bay Inn for a gorgeous meal of Dover sole very yummy!

We had a walk as well, weather not great and expect people are fed up with my Southwold photos! but it is a lovely place. And we go in all weathers…

A view from the pier always have to take the lighthouse!

VERY COOL BLUE…

Another great night of musical talent at the Pavilion Ditchingham with Cool Blue giving us a very different evening while the Sole Bay had a break from entertaining us all.

A couple of  photos, it was a good crowd of supporters once again and the chairs ran out as usual, luckily Neil had some spare in his car! So good to know that the Thursday evenings at the Sports Centre is so well appreciated by music lovers.

Someone was taking videos so may even be able to put a link on here if they let me know, always nice to hear them as well as just a photo, for those of our 'crowd' who were unable to come along in person.

Lin…Tony…Craig…Simon…Mick…Barry… providing us with some Blues and Swing…

Thanks folks you did us proud. Good singing and loved the harmonies…

And Moon Dance one of June and my favourites so thank you for that…

Thank also for the "Happy Birthday" song, was trying to keep it quiet, but it was very nice, we have such a lovely crowd of people at the Pavilion it is like a friendly club so thanks again to one and all…

Sole Bay should be back next week will put the line up on when Alan lets me know.

The Pavilion Ditchingham…Thursday 15th August…

This week at the Pavilion, we have another change of Musicians…

As so many of the Sole Bay either have other commitments or are on holiday,
we have the really cool "Cool Blue" to entertain us.

As many of you know one of the regular spots they play is at the Butchers Arms once a month on a Sunday so a lot of us know how good they are…

So hope to see a really good crowd to come and support the Band…

I have not been given the line up, but it is usually…

Simon…Vocals…
Lin…Saxophone…
Tony…Double Bass…
Mick…Guitar…
Craig…Drums…
and Barry…Piano…

If there are any more musicians playing or any change to the line up, no doubt someone will inform me and I can pop them on here…

A night of Jazz…Swing…Blues… lovely.

Butterflies…

This lunch time I was sitting by the conservatory open door when about 5 beautiful butterflies came on the lawn, this year I have had a mass of them in the Buddleia, Lavender etc, but of course cannot get close but here is a couple of rather bad photos as could not disturb them, but what wonderful colours…and after the shortage of them here last year, it is so good to watch them…Even if they are sitting on my poor little piece of grass…

Sole Bay again!

Alan's wife took a few videos at last weeks jazz, and he has put this one on u tube, well worth a look and listen…

Thanks everyone for making it a real good night and so pleased that you can hear at least one of the great numbers… 'Willy the Weeper' played with great gusto as was the whole evening…

http://youtu.be/-IN2ffiub6o   enjoy…

Another great foot tapping video from Alan and Gina…of the Sole Bay last Thursday…

PEREGRINES AGAIN…

I have been having a really nice time being on the Hawk and Owl Trust Forum this year, as only looked in last year, and if you have looked on  here before you will know how wonderful these birds of prey are…

Also the people who post on there are so friendly and very informed, since the Chicks at Norwich have grown, they have found all sorts of sites with young birds like Osprey, Hobbits and many others from all over the country and abroad , so thanks girls…

If anyone is interested on Sunday the 18th of August the 'Big Wild Life Revival' starts on the BBC, and it looks like the Peregrine's will be shown being ringed.

The photographers have been great and I have been borrowing (with permission) to put some photos on here, still unable to sort my flicker account out for Jamie's photos at the moment, but here are a few that Skip took last Saturday… hope you enjoy them… Thanks Boys.

SUNDAY STROLL…

The weather turned out strange but no rain, so Jan and I set off for a nice stroll by the river…

Nice to see the Quay and the river wall being well used, and the Marina was full of cruisers.

Just a few little images…
We walked a nice long way round the marshes and came back by the river…

This beauty was sailing well and then moored at the quay when we got there…

Lovely sun on the water…

Several seats along there now, donated and nice for a rest!

Mum with her brood…

One legged while having a doze!

Cool Blue Pink Panther

Just a little light relief as this was requested every week by Ian the landlord! so they gave in!

A rather different request… Have a laugh and enjoy…

Cool Blue afternoon!

Another great lunchtime of Blues and Jazz at the Butchers Arms at Beccles.

David took some great photos  have chosen a few to put on here,  he has done videos as well, so looks like a lot of time will be spent trying to remember how to size them and put them on here, but they will follow. Sometime!

They are good and especially the one that Ian (landlord) ask for The Pink Panther!

We had a trombone player some of the time, was not sure who he was, he is on a couple of videos, but have not got a photo to put on this time.

A fun afternoon… yes Simon we have got some great ones of you on the videos where you have your eyes open!

Simon…

Lin

Mick…
There are so many good ones it was hard to pick these, you will have to come here if you want to see them all.
