Wow!

Last evening at the Sports Pavilion …The Sole Bay Jazz Band entertained a great crowd to a night of live music.

What a night, thank you to all of them, Tim…Ron…Ray…Craig…Alan…Tony… what talent we were served up with, several pieces not heard played there as well.

We, as I always say, are so lucky to have such a different line up each week (thanks Alan) such talent, for the price of raffle tickets! amazing crowd who always turn up and support all the musicians, but it is a lovely friendly venue and so good last evening to see the return of a few of the regulars who have been unwell.

Hope to see a return of a few more when they feel better, and a couple of new faces, so thank you for digging deep, and for the lovely comments about the band. They do appreciate the support.

Heidi as always serving with that lovely smile…For my lovely friends who fold the raffle tickets each week. for all the really nice people who make the night out so good.

Thanks as always to those who provide some great prizes to go along with what we buy, but know how you all feel that without the raffle it would be much harder for Alan to find these great musicians week after week.

Also must say a big thank you to Chris Capucci who turned up to listen and ended up with singing for us…

Thanks Jan for driving us again, and for all the folding raffle ticket friends who I am very grateful for each week, we have tried to think of something easier, however people like to see the raffle tickets lined up so we will stick to what we have I think. Sole Bay in the snow!

Last evening at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham The Sole Bay Jazz Band and friends came along to play for an amazing amount of fans,  considering the weather, so I would like to thank everyone, especially those who had to come a long way just hope everyone got home safely. Thanks Jan for getting us home through that horrible blinding snow and wind. Very icy this morning as well so stay safe.

So good to see Sheila, Kim and Simon managing to get there, and of course great vocals Simon thank you. A lot of folk were full of coughs and colds but music is a great healer, so hope they all managed to enjoy it all. There is such a good feeling hearing music with people who love it, we are so lucky to not only have the Sole Bay to play for us but also such good friends there.

Great music all the evening lots of solos and great drumming as always Craig, Piano magic from Ray, Alan on guitar and banjo, Tony on that big bass, Bill so mellow on that trombone, Derek still good after all the years, and Tim lots of great playing, and smiles all round which makes it a pleasure to watch you all having fun. Chris came along and gave us a couple of songs at the end of the evening naughty Derek making him laugh, but it was so good to see and it made us all laugh as well.

Thanks to people who gave me more prizes for the raffle, all helps, and being so generous with buying the tickets, it was a great idea of Keith's all those years ago, as with what we receive from Jon it helps Alan to find these good musicians so we can have a lovely night of music.

Heidi as always with her lovely smiles, thanks also for all my hugs, so nice to have such good friends.

A few photos for you…Do not worry Duncan and Don did not put those naughty ones on!

Flowers and Oscar!

Yesterday Phil and Dawn came over  for a while,  so more lovely flowers, so good to see them, and the Christmas decorations have been put away for another year …thanks you two.

Nice phone call from David as well… Lucky me …so look forward to seeing them all, but they have their own lives to lead and so busy with their jobs… thankful for any time they can spare me, John would be so proud of them.

Then I settled in the afternoon to do a bit of knitting, and of course Oscar loves to think my things are his!  makes a change from my bed I suppose!

Walk in Pakefield

This weather of ours changes so much, so what does one do? well go with it of course, so after doing a bit of shopping for food and cards this morning in town, Jan and I decided housework  could wait, after all we have worked all our lives we are supposed to be retired! so took ourselves off to Pakefield for Fish and Chips and a walk by the sea! Thanks Jan great idea…

The sunshine was great the icy wind not as good, however the Fish and Chips were gorgeous.

So we sat on a bench along the cliffs and ate them whilst being watched by the passing walkers with dogs,  and many loud and cheeky seagulls…It was chilly and we needed the walk, hope no one recognised us with our hoods down nearly over our faces, then the weather looked bad, so we came home, but we did feed the seagulls as the photo shows.

The sun was out again by the time we came home however we are not as young as we were so the afternoon was spent indoors! Oscar of course waited this morning for me to throw the covers back before he curled up for the morning in the bed! what a life! Cannot believe I went out without making the bed!

Sole Bay Jazz Band…

A great start to the New Year with the Sole Bay Jazz Band and friends at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…Wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year…

A terrible night of weather, but so good to see so many jazz fans turn out to listen to the live music and meet up with friends…thanks to one and all for buying the raffle tickets, which as you well know help Alan to bring us a different line up each week.

I just want to say was thrilled with some news of one of our fans, who is once again battling to come back to the music, well done you know who, and to all who are unwell wishing you  will all be back to good health we do miss you.

Once again the band played us a storm of an evening, with vocals from Tony P and some very nice music, even if they did play one about Easter! getting as bad as the supermarkets!! They were rather brightly dressed as well which was cheerful…

Heidi working hard as always…

Thanks to everyone for making it another fun night. How lucky are we to have so many friends and live music at the same time.
