The Footwarmers Jazz Session…

This Sunday lunchtime some of the Footwarmers played for us at The Beccles Conservative Club… some nice music considering no one was feeling at their best so well done to you all, some fun as well which is great…

A good crowd attending again…Sun was shining and the bowling green looking good as always.

I was not able to get the whole band in because of the post in the middle so had to try and find some space, ended up with some daft photos as should think where things poke in the way! but hey ho!

duet…

Looking serious…

New hat for Dave…

A microphone on Bills nose!

Sole Bay Jazz Band fun night…

A great night of talented musicians played some rather yummy live music  for a small but good crowd of people last night at The Sports Pavilion…Ditchingham…

It was such a fun night as all the band were enjoying themselves also some lively music, as always played so well for us all.

As I have said a smaller crowd than normal, and apart from some loud talking at one end to us…sorry if it spoilt it for some…but it is a social evening… a very happy crowd by the applause…Some new faces as well, but some of our regulars still missing because of illness so hurry up and get well.

Every one played with gusto with some great solos for us to enjoy. Thanks Sole Bay well done Alan it was a good mix.

Thank you everyone for digging deep for the raffle, I know I say it every week but without yours and Jon's help the Band could not come along every Thursday night to play for us, and we do try to provide some yummy prizes! Thanks also as always my raffle ticket folders a great job done…

Heidi with her smile, hope you did not mind the belated birthday wishes!

Great evening spent with good friends and some wonderful live music.

Garden!

Just a few photos of the garden… I took them a few days ago when there was no sunshine! Also have just spent over an hour cutting back the variegated bush so looks a lot better… even if I ache! Oscar was checking what I had done!

More Peregrine news…

The Male Peregrine is doing a great job of feeding those screaming chicks of his, he nearly gets pushed off the edge this morning, but they are still surviving…

Poor Dad!

Well I have just been invited to be on the admin team on the Peregrine site, so thank you very much, I hope I can help . A great site to be part of.

Wednesday and those chicks are growing fast thanks to Dad.Tug of war with them now and the chick nearly won!

Peregrine…

It is so sad but it seems that our darling female falcon who we named between ourselves as Catherine, has not been seen for well over a week now, and as there were buzzards about and she was attacked by them it would seem she has died we are waiting to hear from the Hawk and Owl Trust tomorrow.

Leaving the male to feed and look after the chicks, they are now a nice size he is doing a great job, but as well as the four chicks there is an intruder… a female juvenile falcon that has been sitting and trying to come onto the box, however it now seems that our male has been feeding her as well, so not looking as good as we would like for the chicks, but always we hope for the best.

Our main photographer has allowed me to put this image on the blog, thanks Chris.

Think a few tears will however be shed, as we all get rather fond of these beautiful birds.

We now just hope at least some of the chicks will survive a big ask for the male but he is a lovely caring bird, if you can call a huge bird caring, we all do on the Norwich peregrine site of course.

This is the male with the chicks this evening…The colours are not the same through the camera on the Norwich Box, obviously they are rather beautiful as you can see from the other photograph.

Sole Bay Jazz and Friends…

A good night at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with the Sole Bay Jazz Band … different sort of night once again very hot in there, perhaps we will have to move the chairs from near the fire door so we can allow a breeze to come in …or else those who sit there will have to wear coats!!!As the band and some of us get rather warm!

A lot of regulars missing through holidays and sickness, however although lots of empty chairs those of us who were there enjoyed the music. Nice to see a few new faces as well as our regulars.

Thanks Heidi for the smile! and thanks to my raffle ticket holders of course. and thank you all for digging deep as always.

I still hope that some of our poorly folk may look on here and can get in touch to tell us how you are fairing…as everyone misses you.

A couple of photos…bright shirt Derek!

Norfolk Dixieland Jazz Band…

Sunday the 15th and at The Goat Skeyton, the classic cars and motorbike rally was held, and at the lunch time The Norfolk Dixieland Jazz Band played up a storm of entertaining music…

Thanks for taking me Tim, …I hope it was a nice surprise Jean when I walked in as knew you were not expecting me, and Judy thanks for looking after me so well.

Glad it got out fine for everyone, nice walk round Judy looking at all the cars etc. Some were really rather classy…

The band played well and at least managed some nice photos as the lighting better out in the Marque than inside…Thanks for the tidy up Bill!!

A long time since I have seen that many people gathered together, and must say that I was probably the only one wearing a skirt, while everyone else wore trousers or jeans I do not own a pair of jeans maybe I should !

Peregrines!

The chicks are growing fast up there on the Norwich Spire, caught this little capture earlier… not a yawn but how sweet…

This second one was at about 7 this morning could not resist it they had just been fed and were hoping for more!

Sad to say even on the 19th May still no sign of Mum at the Cathedral, seems a large Bath female chased her off on Monday, so Dad has been in charge bless him he is overworked but keeping them alive with food so far, just hope the weather holds as they still have not got their feathers to protect them. Nature at its cruelest.

Jazz at the Sports Pavilion

Another great night of different talented musicians last evening at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…

Alan Bradley led the band with his usual gusto! supported by Derek…Trummy…and in the second half Tim came to give us some great saxophone! with our usual lovely back line of Alan…Craig…Tony …it proved to be a really good, fun, musical evening.

A good crowd to support the band as always, with some new faces, some of our regulars were missing again due to being unwell, so we send get well wishes to you all and come and join us again……

Thanks Don for getting in touch with Tony J to let us know how things are, we send our best to you and  hope the wife soon improves, please pass our sympathy to Keith… Simon Denny is improving not as fast as he would like but it takes time lucky to have Kim to keep an eye on you… we miss your singing… So for all those missing get better and come back soon.

Thanks Heidi…and my raffle ticket folders nice to see you back again… also Clover donating  for the  raffle… enjoy your holiday…Thanks to Jon and for all of you who come along and support the raffle by digging deep each week so we can enjoy live music on a Thursday night.

Congratulation Robin on another marathon medal, like the colour of the shirt!

Hope I have mentioned everyone as I wrote a nice long piece for here then pressed the wrong button so had to start again! Old age!

Jazz fun night…

At the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham last evening, a very good session of live music and singing from Roy and his Merry Men…

Whilst some of the Sole Bay were on holiday, Craig and Tony J were there to help the band along…Roy and and his band provided a fun night, just as I said they would…some different music and a nice lot of singing!  (nice one Ian)…for the very good crowd that came along to support them even some musicians among them which was nice.  Good to see some of the regulars coming back, still quite a few missing, so a get well soon message to them…

I think the Band seemed a bit worried at first about stepping into The Sole Bay shoes, but it went very very well, and I hope that they felt it was a success.

Good friends and live music what more could one want…

Thanks Heidi nice to see you back although Jon did a grand job last week, he does not have that smile!

Some people sat in our regular seats so we had to move, a bit strange for folding the raffle tickets…however Clover,Chris,Wendy plus Tony took over some of the raffle ticket folding, so thanks folks very nice of you…Thanks to all for digging deep for the raffle as well…

A few photos, those lights are not good for my little camera, not an excuse it is true…Some were a bit shaky so could not put them on, however you did smile for me Tony it was my fault you are not pictured this week! Will get a good one next time!

very serious!

Peregrines

A quick blog to show all four lovely baby chicks having a good feed at 6.30 this morning, looking good as they are all feeding well…
