Fun night with Sole Bay Jazz and guests…

A very good evening of live music from the Sole Bay Jazz Band and guests…

A lively fun night with all the band enjoying themselves, which in turn makes the evening really enjoyable for us fans.

Such talent for the price of a raffle ticket, which brings me to say, these talented musicians come along every Thursday evening to play for us, and the raffle plus the bar enables Alan to get some different line ups…

Unfortunately the audience seems to be getting smaller as the band gets bigger, and more talented, we have such a great family atmosphere there at Ditchingham, and we all do our best to attend weekly, unless of course illness prevents us; so if any of you who reads this blog and Fudges FB sole bay, please try and get along as often as you can to keep this going… live music will only keep going if we go to the gigs and as there is no entry fee, please give as much as you can for raffle tickets, I know so many of you really pay a good price so thank you for that, and Clover and Christine collects as much as possible, but if we want the band to continue weekly some of us will have to dig a little deeper … good raffle prizes … great music and a bar who could want more. So please talk to people about the live music and let us get a better amount of people coming along to enjoy.

Thanks Don for folding all those tickets…

Some very nice singing from our Barry, and  the band as always giving their all, and nice to welcome Johnny Herbert this week with some very smooth saxophone, who fitted in very well, even the cornet came out from Ray at the end… so a really great evening.

Lovely to see Emily back behind the bar always a joy…

A few photos and Fudge has some great ones on FB…

Sole Bay Jazz Band …Party night!

Glad to see a nice crowd coming along last evening to The Sports Pavilion, Ditchingham. to support The Sole Bay Jazz Band, with some special guests.  Those who could not make it missed a really good night!

It was a very different night of music, with guests Martin and Lindsey making it more like a big band sound, everyone upped their game,  and the music and singing was fantastic, so good to see all the band really enjoying themselves. I certainly did! Nice to have Martin's wife sitting with us, great that some wives come to support their hard working men.

Great playing and when they asked young Henry in the second half to join them,  it is so good to see this young man fit in and be welcomed by such veterans of live music, it warms the heart …he loved it as did we. ( ha ha Clive yes we treat him like a Son)

Great playing as always from our great back line and Ray with his piano… plus he did bring the cornet right at the end always a good vibe with that. it just kept getting better.

Lindsey giving us some nostalgic songs, she has great presence we all felt so much more lively with her bubbly singing. It did seem strange without our Barry singing but no fear he will be back next week.

Christine with Janice collected the raffle money ( which as you well know helps with getting such talent each week) thank you as always for digging deep, I must say you all got your raffle monies worth with the jazz last night, it was first class. we did miss our Clover, get well soon Clover. Thanks as always for Don and Duncan folding those tickets as well.

Our Emily was not well last night  (get better soon Em.) so Kelly took over bless her, first time with that lovely but slow coffee machine, well done young lady.

Fudge has some great photos on FB, which are taken with her lovely phone…my dear camera and computer take a lot longer to get on here, but hope you can see it was a good line up.

Sole Bay Jazz Band with guests…

Another  rather nice evening of music at The Sports Pavilion with The Sole Bay Jazz Band and guests…

Some good different music and Barry singing also young Henry coming along in the second half to play the Saxophone, so good for him to be playing with such talent, always nice to have younger folk coming along liking jazz music.

The second half took off with more fun as well and Barry coming back on piano while Ray played the Cornet and Henry joining in, I love it when they all enjoy themselves as well as playing for us.

So again thanks Sole Bay but what on earth is it with checked shirts?  I do half expect them to start on some country music , ha ha but I like all music so would not bother me!!!

Not sure about the amount of people turning up to the jazz or rather not coming along, I know a lot of people have coughs and colds etc, and other things to attend, but it is always sad to see  empty chairs, when the band comes along each week to play for us. However those who were there again digging deep for the raffle, thanks Clover and Christine and for Duncan and Don folding the tickets…great raffle prizes as well.

Emily cheerful behind the bar, we are liking the new coffee machine! thanks for your help Em.

Wishing all those who are under the weather health wise to get better soon.

A few photos, Fudge has a nice lot on FB.

Hope to see a good crowd next week some special guests coming along.

The Chorus of St Cecilia…

Yet another evening of  me being spoilt by Jan with Elizabeth, James and Max they took me to see and hear the wonderful Chorus of St Cecilia to the 21st year anniversary concert 'Broadway Romance' at The Pavilion Theatre Gorleston .

The three 'D's' all sing in the choir and James acts as well, so a very talented trio, as is the whole cast…led by Mathew Hardy with his team they put on really super shows for charity every year. Chris on piano what a player he is…

Lots of different music…and the costumes are beautiful …Les Miserables… Mack and Mabel …Mamma Mia…Wizard of Oz… Chicago …Muppets Movie with the junior choir… as well as many more…Everyone sang and played so well, the solos were as always lovely… Neil gives such a professional persona his voice send shivers…The last section is always the best makes tears of joy come to your eyes when the volume goes up and the beautiful voices blend together…and what an appreciative audience …

But the choir itself is really the best there is, the ladies and gentlemen look and sound so great, the harmony is outstanding, and the little ones look so cute in the junior choir and so well behaved, certainly a choir helps with meeting friends and self esteem.

So once again a great evening and one does not have to go to the West End to see and hear great singing. Thanks to one and all.

Sole Bay Jazz Band and guests…

Wow what a great night of live music at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with the Sole Bay Jazz Band and guests… you would not have got such a line up for the price of raffle tickets anywhere else…

A super talented evening of music and songs, how lucky are we to have been able to enjoy such a feast …I have taken a few photos and Fudge has some on FB, Tony will pop some videos no doubt on FB but I have managed to do the one on the post below a bit blurred but it gives those who could not get to jazz an idea of what they missed!

Sad that not a full house but hopefully all those who were there certainly had a great time…

Thanks Clover and Christine for doing the raffle and for you all digging deep to support the band, thanks as always to Don and Chris last night for folding the tickets.

Our Lovely Emily doing her best to look after everyone with that smile behind the bar, always helpful and love the new coffee machine well done Jon for that really great drop of coffee. Thanks Em for all you do.

Lovely to see some faces that have been missing for a while come back again soon.
