Beccles Conservative Club Jazz.

This Sunday lunchtime the 26th February at the Club, The Footwarmers played up a storm of jazz and blues.

A good crowd to support the musicians, which was nice to see, a raffle thanks Joyce… Julia was flying around with the beef burgers well done, Brian behind the bar …Steve keeping his eyes on things. and as I said it was a real jam session with a nice lot os fun as well, so thanks gentlemen.

Considering that all the "lads" were not in the best of health it was good to hear Roy singing and playing again  more like his old self, nice to see Mike F back again on the clarinet, Peter on guitar and singing some great songs, Mike B played some great bass, and of course Craig on the drums, and Ian heading them up and keeping them moving and singing as well! Lots of requests which were duly played for us all.

A few photos, always hard to take when the post gets in the way!

Well as the weather got worse and my head got even more so, we decided that Storm Doris had won and we could not go to the jazz on Thursday evening, however great to know that all the band turned up to play and several people braved the storms to support them.
Thanks Clover a grand job with the raffle as always.

Heidi you must have been a bit bored however bet the smile was still there! Fudge and co were helping with the Beer Festival in Norwich, so hope we will all be back next week…

I hear Barry sang, so thanks to him as well as the mad band for getting through the storm!

Hope this coming Thursday will bring better weather and a good crowd.

Jazz

A little video of the Tony and the band with the Bass Clarinet…Sorry I missed the beginning but hope you enjoy…

I have been sitting here listening to this  lovely music again and realise how great Ray on piano is, as well as our lovely back line.

Also on Face book I note that some people were saying how musicians should be paid a great deal more for playing than our wonderful team do. Some who also have day jobs as well.

SO a huge thank you for our crew who faithfully play every week for us for a small fee, you deserve more, but know you are well appreciated by all of us.

JAZZ NIGHT…

Thanks Alan what a great line up last evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham.

Sad that not many people there but hope that the band appreciated the few who enjoyed a really great evening of music and singing with loads of talent and fun. Those who did not or could not come along missed a really fantastic night.

We always enjoy the Thursday nights and sometimes like last night some extra magic comes along!

Magic from the many instruments that Tony Radford brought along, have not had him at the Club before so hope he comes back when he has time. He played a bass clarinet never seen or heard one before mmm very smooth…Trummy as always so many notes from the trombone and 'arsonium' Ray wow always flying fingers on the piano… but really they flew last night…thanks for your words as well. Our great back line …Tony J on string bass, good solos…Alan guitar/banjo looking all smiles and getting a chance to speak! … Craig, we really love you and those drums…

I could not resist a little video which I will try and put on later only caught part of it but it shows the sound of the bass clarinet…

Thanks to Clover for the raffle and for the 'boys' for the ticket folding, our thanks to our stand in young lady behind the bar… smiling just like Heidi hope you enjoyed it.

Hope all those who are unwell soon recover and and come along again.

I must just pass on the news that  Simon Denny is singing again this weekend with the JW big band…I think he knows how much we love him and after all he has been through he is coming out the good end, so well done Simon and Kim and all your lovely family, roll on the time when you can come and sing to us all again.

Sole Bay Jazz night…

Nice evening of Jazz at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham …

Some good choice of music,  although rather loud last night for my ears, shame should be used to loud noise after following bands all my life! but it was enjoyable, (glad some others thought it loud as well as me)…a nice mix however, even if very serious at times!

Nice that Barry could give us some songs…still getting used to the band… but sounding good and in Blue not the Man in Black last night..but still with a hat!

Thanks Clover and Chris for the raffle, and a huge thank you to those who offer prizes (some great ones Brian thank you) which all goes to help keep the great music coming every Thursday evening. Thanks as always to the 'boys' for folding the tickets, and get better soon Don.

Hope all  those feeling under the weather soon feel much better…

Thanks Heidi as always will miss you next week.

Nice to see some of the regulars back, I know a lot of folk are able to holiday this time of year, so hope to still manage to see a good crowd next week to support the band.

Live music is great and we have some really talented musicians every week. Thanks gentlemen.
