Sole Bay Jazz Band night…

A good Thursday night at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…  Thanks Sole Bay Jazz Band…

A good crowd came along and enjoyed live  music always a good line up with our great back line, and Tim, Derek and Ray on the front line. Some great numbers…

It was really good to see a lot of new faces popping in to enjoy the music, some of our regulars are not able to attend nowadays so really good to see a newer crowd, we send our best to all those who are unwell and not able to come along, we do not forget you. And of course our regulars such a great friendly crowd. We need more chairs Jon!!!

Barry came along and gave us a couple of vocals which went down as always very well, even with a change of chord half way through one of them. It is what makes live music good!

Tony took a nose dive still not sure what happened but glad you were ok Tony, that monster of a double bass took over for a bit! woke those who were having a doze or chatting ha ha.

A good raffle thanks to Clover and Chris, and next week we may have a slightly bigger one as you are all digging deep for the band so thought a few extra prizes may tempt you more!! As always thanks to the 'boys' for folding the tickets.

Heidi bet you slept well you were very busy, and thanks for your help as always.

Garden and Norwich…

David took me to Norwich this morning to meet up with some of the volunteers who man the tent there, Chris has been taking some wonderful photos as always of the Peregrines, so selling mugs with the photos on also prints as well he has raised a truly amazing amount of money for the trust,.

There are several photographers  but Chris has been the one from the start that has given us great images, thanks Chris for all your and the teams hard work, I will not put how much the cheque is for as it would spoil the surprise when it goes in the paper.

Lovely to meet up again this morning  with some of the folk sorry the heat was too much for me to stay, but will treasure the mug and photos, as will David.

While we were there I took a couple of shots of the cool cloisters as we sat in there listening to the service in the Cathedral, what a wonderful place of calm that is.

Chris was kind enough to allow a photo of Bezza with him under the shade of my parasol no idea why people do not have those nowadays better than a hat!!!!

I took a couple of the garden yesterday it is suffering but I have been working hard of late, and thanks Craig for cutting the tall shrubs…even if we discovered the blackbirds nest she is still sitting on it even though she is very exposed. just hope for a good result with the chicks.

I  framed my photo of "Solo" thanks Chris.

Hot hot Hot…

Hot Hot Hot and that includes the great talent that was playing last evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…

Seven musicians in that heat playing their very best, what a lovely musical evening thank you everyone.

Great mixture of melodic …jazz and fun especially the Russian song Tony have not heard that for a while… the playing of everyone was so good and what an appreciative audience.

Well done to the girls for the raffle and the boys for folding the tickets. Thanks as always for all you digging deep for the raffle so it helps to keep our talented musicians to play for us each week.

I do have to mention hoping that I do not upset anyone…that we must get the seating sorted so that no one sits in FRONT of the fire doors as not only for access but everyone gets so hot in the room, so let us hope if this weather keeps up we can do something about it! I know always that people like where they wish to sit but we must think of everyone and ventilation is really needed. Right have had my say!!!

Sad for all the hay fever sufferers me included, hope the pollen count soon gets better!

A few photos Fudge has a good one of Tony P singing on her Sole Bay on FB.

Thanks to Heidi as always…

Norwich Peregrines

A long time since I have posted about the Peregrines, as after last year when all was lost I have not been so keen to watch quite as much, but of course I have kept up with them. Sadly it did seem as though all was lost this year again as GA the new female was rather clumsy and very young, and only one of the 4 eggs hatched.

So when the little white chick started to grow it has been hard to watch again, I did get up to Norwich and meet up with the crew again, such wonderful people at The Watch, all volunteers and great to peer through those telescopes and see for real instead of watching from the computer.

Chris our main photographer (there are more) has allowed me to show the latest of the chick who somehow we call Solo, he was there to capture when she fledged yesterday, the other photos I took yesterday while watching on screen, a very cheeky chick good luck to her, as would love to have a good result this year.

Thanks Chris for letting me borrow this the first of many I hope.

Our Norm the male who is looking at the empty nest …he has to keep feeding the chick with the female thank goodness they know where it is. Here is hoping all is well this year.

Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Another great night of talented live music last evening at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with The Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Five only playing so a few pieces of  slow music,  and a few faster ones …so many notes played out of the clarinet …saxophone …'arsonium' and trombone…… lovely drumming, and string bass, and the guitar with the poor banjo not there because of an accident…very very good even though it was really hot the band did well. Not such a big crowd as last week but good to see most places taken.

Thanks Chris for the raffle well done …and for you all digging deep as always, also the 'boys' back again to fold the tickets…

Lovely smile as always Heidi, and thanks for all you do for me. Sorry the old hay fever is haunting us!

A couple of photos for you, and already looking forward to next weeks session …

apologies for the lateness, been a busy B…

Beccles Triathlon

Today was the Beccles Triathlon. it was really good the Lido looked great so many wonderful people taking part and the cadets and all the staff were really great ran like clockwork.

Last year our Dawn did the race and Philip my Son did his this year, so proud of him and all those taking part. Well done to everyone.

Not so happy with Waveney House Hotel last year we went and had coffee there while waiting for the runners to finish, and they were great this year they turned us all away, said they had too much to do, and their guests came first, as there were only 2 lots of people in the bar area and no one outside we asked it we could have some tea, they refused so Waveney House Hotel I worked there for years and never remember anyone getting turned away, so hope they realise they have made a few very unhappy people not good for trade for us Beccles people.

So we went back to the lido and had a great cup of tea nicer there everyone friendly!!!!

Here are a couple of photos …
