Christmas lunch…

Lovely lunch today with my Son David, sadly my friend could not join with us as she had a fall during the week.

Pudding may have taken 8 hours to make and cook but so yummy it was worth it!

Lovely presents from everyone thank you so much…

I do hope you all had a good day with family and friends…but for those who were alone sending hugs and love.

Not sure yet about the flashing ball!

But mouse taste good!

Did we really eat all that?

Still making Delia's puddings nice and juicy…

Sole Bay Jazz with friends…

Another good night at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with the Sole Bay Jazz Band Christmas party!

Thanks to Clover and Chris for a lovely raffle, and the pretty head decorations also for Heidi busy behind the bar with her Christmas Jumper.

Loads of food and pretty lights on tables, and nice to see Simon and Kim, sorry Shelia was not able to come. Hope all those who were unwell and not able to come along get better soon …hope to see everyone back in the New Year.

My camera was on a wrong setting but will pop the photos on sorry …and I was not 'with drink' either it was the settings, or maybe it was because of  Tim playing with that bah humbug hat on! after all these years nice to see a happy Tim at Christmas… Fudge and Robin nice hats as well…

Some really good  live music with little bits of Christmas thrown in, great playing and some solos, and a wonderful violin and piano duet with Ray and his daughter, thanks so much for that…tingling hairs at back of neck.

The next live Sole Bay Jazz session at Ditchingham is the 5th of January so hope you all have a wonderful Merry Christmas and  a Healthy Happy New Year.

Family…

It makes a change to put a family post after so many Sole Bay Jazz posts! But my blog diary needs an update on family life!

A wonderful thing happened earlier in the year, my Grandson who we had not been able to see for 20 years, managed to find his Dad (my Son) and so a reunion took place, I had given up ever knowing him again, but he has always been in mine and the family's hearts…

So after several meetings we are all beginning to get to know one another, great to hear him call his Father Dad …my Son David is now an uncle again and I can be Nan once more…

Thomas is getting married next year to lovely Emma, and Philip with Dawn are getting married as well she has two great sons so looks like the family is getting bigger…

Yesterday as everyone is so busy with work and other family commitments we had a lovely Sunday lunch together at The White Horse in Wheatacre… Aldeby and Wheatacre are close to my heart as my dear John and his family came from there.

So a few photos of our lovely lunch, many more to come we all hope…Just shows not to give up hope…Love them all.

Sole Bay Jazz Band with friends…

Last evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, we were entertained with a rather different line up, and what a pleasure so many tunes and a couple of vocals which some of us joined in with…

A really good crowd to support the band and I do hope everyone enjoyed it as much as us at the front did. Lovely to hear you singing Stella! A great little friendly corner and as I have said before it is so good after 8 years of doing the raffle to be able to sit at the front and really enjoy the music, even if I do miss all the chatting to everyone.

I am sure they would not mind that I say for the age of some of the band …they played all through the evening no chatty breaks, but loads of laughs and fun…and as I said before a lot of unusual music, I know it was not all jazz but so good. Thanks to you all it was great.

Thanks Clover and Chris, another lovely raffle, and to the 'boys' for folding the tickets.

Heidi kept busy last night! but still that smile.

Nice to see some of the old regulars coming back…

I am not sending many Christmas cards this year I hope no one gets offended, but giving as always to The Norfolk Zipper Club. But sending a very Merry Christmas to one and all at Jazz…

Do not forget to bring some food for your tables on the 22nd, I know the ladies are going to make sure it will be a great raffle, donations always handy if you feel you can, lets make it the same as the past 5 years at the Pavilion a Happy pre Christmas Party.

A few photos from last evening nice bright shirts!

Tony down

Tony pose!

Sole Bay Jazz Band Plus…Plus…

Where do I start on my blog diary today? What a great night of live music good company and lots of laughs with The Sole Bay Jazz Band at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham.

Alan has to think weeks ahead to get a band together each week for us, and because last night was supposed to be Ron Hockett's last evening playing for us, Alan had got some reserves booked to come along if they felt like it so we could have a good night to support him. alas Ron had to go back to 'Trump Land' a few weeks ago, so Alan forgot to cancel anyone, so Trummy came along to make a line up of 8 …but what a great night we all had ,Alan I know how you felt, but it turned out so good so thanks for all your hard work.

As I said it was such a good night, lots of great music and vocals, some great solos …and duets so many different tunes came forth from one and all in the band, so a very different mix which was so nice. A couple of Trombones …Trumpet …Cornet…Clarinet…Saxophone…Piano…Banjo…Guitar…String Bass, Drums… Vocals…wow…

Bit loud sitting at the front, but so good to sit there after years of not seeing the band properly from the side, and what great company Simon and Kim so good to see you both, and Simon thank goodness recovering well even after another spell in JPH, nearly ready to sing? I know it is your aim, and thanks for the mention on the DVD clever boy.…Stella in fine voice  enjoying every minute, Ruth, Dr David and Richard glad you are liking the jazz. Brian thanks for the gift! Fudge,Robin and Bob to mention a few. It is still strange not to chat to one and all now that the ladies have taken over the raffle, but good to see you all there.

A really good crowd to support the band as well, and thanks to Clover and Chris for a lovely raffle and for our boys who were back again to fold the tickets, and Don who has managed to do the job while they were away.

We are so lucky to have so many regulars  … we have lost a few this year and a lot are sick, so may I wish those who are unwell a speedy recovery from me and of course the Sole Bay Jazz Band.

Heidi of course the start of Christmas and the pretty Christmas Jumper returns, well done your smiling face is always such a pleasure.

I took lots of photos but you know my camera is not the best, but hope you can enjoy them…Not much colour going on Gentlemen where are the bright shirts?

Got to say it was GREAT Band you done us all proud how lucky are we to have such talent with no entrance fee …all for the price of a raffle ticket, thank goodness so many of you appreciate the Band and have more than one raffle ticket so we can have live music every Thursday evening.

We have a few more Thursday evening before Christmas, the last evening for the band is on 22nd December, and John does not mind if you all bring some food for your tables and enjoy a Christmas Special, we have had some great buffets there but it got too much sorry, but I am sure as always there will be food for those who cannot bring any.
