Flixton pt 2

A statue of a Pilot of 1940, very impressive......
Some uniforms that bring back many memories.....
John worked on these Meteors in the 50's.. I have loads of the other planes Dive and Full but you can see them when you come over here....
This is what evoked the memories for me though.. seeing how we used to live, it does make one realise just how lucky we are nowadays with all the things we have now .. I wonder if the youngsters appreciate what they have to what was?
Of course we always had fresh vegetables home grown and made our own bread, just the doodlebugs over head here that bothered us in those days.....

Gosh, that DOES bring back the memories!
This is a brilliant series of posts but you're putting them up too quickly before people get a chance to see them and comment.

The nostalgic is great here. Um, what is a doodlebug.

A doodlebug, Robyn, was the V1 flying bomb; a rocket with wings (similar in shape to your cruise missiles) with just enough fuel to reach London.
They made a sputtering sound when they ran out of fuel and then dropped … usually on houses and innocent people.
It was a nasty, indiscriminate weapon of terror with no tactical worth whatsoever, but together with the V2 it was Hitler's last throw at forcing us to come to terms.
