Sole Bay Jazz Band and Guests…

Another great evening of live music from The Sole Bay Jazz Band at The Sports Pavilion, Ditchingham…

A good line up, playing up a storm, maybe not so  much fun between them last night as sometimes but certainly loads of talent, think sometimes they like to play in different keys and they do not always like the same tune, however they were as always super to watch and listen to.

Great playing from Tim/Trummy/Ray/ and our wonderful back line who work so hard…Alan/Tony/Craig… Then some lovely singing from our Man in Black with Hat who changed into the best dressed male there as Tim mentioned. well done Barry and a Very Happy Birthday for Sunday.

What a wonderful if noisy crowd, so great so see so many people there, just like it used to be, thanks for the good company of the lads and Fudge of course… around Jan and me …loving the band table, and thank you so much for again digging deep for the raffle lovely to see the faces when people do not win all in good fun and those happy ones who do, as the prizes are always good…where can one go to hear such wonderful music for the price of raffle tickets. Remember if you buy £5 worth you get an extra strip!!!!

Thanks to Christine who did the raffle on her own this week, and for the boys for folding the tickets, I got part of my old job back last night helping with handing out the prizes, fun…

Lovely Emily very busy last night, and thanks for your help.

Also Jess called in and brought beautiful George with her, not even 6 weeks and gorgeous, thanks for the cuddles he is sweet, and Emily managed to get him to sleep…A so proud Fudge now has 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Sending best wishes who are not feeling well, get better soon…

Happy Mother's Day to all our ladies…

Fudge has some good photos on FB these are mine, with apologies for disturbing people when I wander around to take them.

The Chorus of St Cecilia…

Last evening Jan and I went to the '20th Year Anniversary Concert' to see The St Cecilia Choir, at the Pavilion Theatre Gorleston…this time it was called "Regards to Broadway", some wonderful hits from the Broadway Musicals…Carousel…My Fair Lady…Oliver… Mamma Mia…The Greatest Showman…The Producers…Chicago  (well done Hannah and Charlette what a performance)
The voices of Neil and Philip…Sam…Charlette …Hannah …Bracken…these young singers are brilliant… and all the wonderful cast …young Max wow…(the show must go on… had an op on Wednesday and managed one song with Bracken, Sam and Hannah well done young man). Not a dry eye in the house.

Every time we go to the concerts they get better and better and last night was exceptional, it could have been a West End show with top stars, and as far as the packed house and the cheers and standing ovations it certainly felt like it…

Well done again to Mathew Hardy what a star  a great musical director,  Chris on Piano…  Arthur, Drums and  a lady on String Bass… to all the production assistants stage manager and front of house, once again you have brought such pleasure and talent to Gorleston Theatre.

Of course my great pleasure is seeing Jan's daughter, my niece Elizabeth singing in the choir again, James her hubby, and Max their son at 8 who is in the junior choir, my head was going from side to side to watch them. The audience many of whom had children and friends on stage, so proud as we always are.

So many bad things seem to be happening everywhere nowadays, so it was especially wonderful to lose oneself in the magic of music and singing.

(Not sure about those teenagers who were loudly yelling and already fairly well not sober waiting for the night club to open at 11pm last night)…bet they do not feel as good as us this morning. Thank goodness for the old days!

Jazzzzz with a swing…

Great Music at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham last evening… Well it is always good but sometimes it gets a bit special, as it did  last night …lots of lovely music and singing, and fun as well, thanks Sole Bay  as always a great evening.

Tim…Derek…Barry…and our great back line of Alan Craig and Tony, conjured up a nice lot of different music for us, loved the Route 66 and so did the band by the looks of it. Some Golden oldies that Barry probably had never played before but did a grand job, as did all the band, how lucky are we to have talented live music every Thursday night…

Great to see a nice crowd as well, still a lot missing, so hope if people are unwell they soon get better and come back again soon…

Thanks as always for digging deep for the raffle, as that and the bar keeps the band playing every week, and  big thanks to Don who folded all the tickets.

Good Raffle from Christine and Clover, lovely prizes.

Thanks Emily smiling behind the bar and helping me with our little bit of work!

A few photos and Fudge has one on FB for those who do not look in here.

Sole Bay Jazz Band Evening…

Yet another great evening of live music with the Sole Bay Jazz Band and Friends, at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham.

Sadly not many people turned out …but as the weather was not good and some people were not well or on holiday it was not a surprise…however those of us who were there were treated to a great night of Jazz and lots of fun. A good line up with Tim…Bill…Barry…Craig…Alan…Tony….

Lots of different music and Barry fitted in very well again with piano and voice, and that voice gets  better each time, Tim likes to try different music and they certainly had us all enjoying the variety. Great drumming from Craig, Tony on that bass always so good, Alan guitar and banjo, Bill he makes such great melodic music, Tim as always knowing all about the composers and having some laughs with us all as well, Barry as I said in his element entertaining us.

Tony put a little video up on FB which shows some of the great playing, the audience showed lots of appreciation  and it was well deserved. So thanks Sole Bay you did good again.

Thank you one and all for again digging deep for the raffle which help with these fine musicians to entertain us each week…Clover you did really well  …thanks to Don and Duncan for the ticket folding.

Emily smiling behind the bar and looking after us all…

Happy Anniversary to Irene and Mike hope you enjoyed your evening.

Really good  sitting in front of the band and last night our dear friend Stella came along so thanks to Rose for bringing her, been a year since she has been able to come along and she sits cheering the band on, never still and loving the music always a joy.

It is such a great friendly evening, and we do miss a lot of dear friends who are looking down each week, and to those who are not able to come along because of ill health we send our best wishes to one and all.

Thanks Fudge good photo on FB. A few of mine here…was so wrapped up in the music did not take many…

Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Thursday evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, rocked with The Sole Bay Jazz Band with friends when they gave us a very enjoyable musical and happy time.

Great playing as always from Tim, and the new Baritone was sooo good…Trummy as always finding  many notes on the Trombone and the Euphonium…Ray tinkling fingers on his piano…and our three intrepid back liners, Alan…Tony and Craig…then we had Barry singing for us which is always a pleasure…

It was Sandy's birthday so she had a 'happy birthday' from the band then one of her favourite songs sung by Barry 'East of the Sun' rather good…

Thanks Clover and Christine for the raffle a good one as always… and for Duncan and Jan folding those tickets… Great to see a good crowd digging deep as always to support the band, so thank you so much.

Good to see Douglas there even at his sad time we will miss Joan. But hope you can find some pleasure coming along to listen to great music.

I love to sit at the front, and this week persuaded Jan and Duncan that it was a good spot and several folk have been saying why don't we sit at what we call the band table, so we had a great night, maybe will book those seats for the future!

Emily smiling away behind the bar, thanks for helping with our little job Em…

Wishing all those who are unwell a quick recovery, so many we miss there, but our love goes out to you all.

A few photos …Fudge has a couple of good ones on her Sole Bay site on Face Book…
