Wet and Windy…

I suppose I should not moan about fences down and water coming in, when I see how people are suffering with washed out houses and no electric or gas… so hope even if people lose their homes they at least have their lives.

At least here in Beccles we have had heat and light for Christmas, so here's hoping all those without the power or even a home will soon be safe and hopefully 2014 when it gets here will be a much dryer, and happier one.

Thank goodness for the services we have here in Britain and of course the many people who go out of their way to help those in need…

I do not know if other people are getting muddled with the days, everyday of late has felt like a Sunday! or is that just my old mind? ha ha…

Have a good day everyone, and keep warm and dry, and leave the Sales until later!

Boxing Day

Hope everyone had a great Christmas day, no doubt like us you have eaten too much! but hope you did not drink too much! Or if you did you are not suffering!!

Have a good day today…

It's Christmas!

MAY I WISH  A MERRY, HAPPY AND HEALTHY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY BLOGGER FRIENDS WHO LOOK IN HERE.

This started off being my little blog diary for friends and family, and it has got more of a message board to all Jazz fans… (who according to my stats come from all over the world)!
Which I do not mind at all, as it is a lovely feeling to know I can let a lot of people know where and when there is live jazz music … especially the Sole Bay Jazz …

Hope the New Year, will bring us lots of music…fun…happiness… and above all good health to enjoy it all…

Home made!

I spent 4 hours this morning, baking some sausage rolls, cheese bites and mince pies, ha ha, I am probably daft as can buy things much cheaper than I can make them, but some people still ask me to do them, only thing is …I do try them …whoops!!!

Also my cake … with a silly snowman! and one of the two that I made for friends but they only wanted marzipan!

Impromptu Christmas show!

A tired little 3 year old rang me the other day to ask if I would go up to Gran Jan's to help decorate her little tree… who could resist that call, and after that we were treated to a rather fidgety but wonderful little show of part of the nativity from school!

My young talented niece came a little later than the rest of our family… so she is our baby, (I am sure she will not mind me saying that)…when Max came along it was a lovely gift that we all get the pleasure from…

This is just a little video for the family but Liz said it would be alright to put it on here…

As I mentioned he was rather tired, as he goes to nursery school and also was excited, as all little children are at this time of the year…(and James, he is so like you).

Thanks for letting me share him…

Sole Bay Surprise

The surprise was going to see the Sole Bay Jazz, thinking only two on  the front line, would be hard for the gentlemen…but Alan had managed to contact Simon, so we had a great fun night of live music from 6 talented people…

A nice crowd to support them as well…

So we had Bill as always such classy playing, Trummy wow that man can get some notes from his trombone…Simon with his trumpet and cornet plus the vocals… Tony with his string bass (you did say you may give us a song next week Tony?), Alan on guitar and banjo…and shoeless Craig!!! Tee he sorry Craig…gave us a nice lot of different music played with style and laughter…

Roy also gave us some fun vocals with his extra kick…

I know you said thank you for the blog Alan, and thanked the great people you manage to get to play for us each week, but we know how hard it is to get them all together so we do thank you.

Heidi great to see you on top form with your  lovely smile…

Such a lovely friendly place we have at the sports centre…and how lucky we are to have live music each week…

Next Thursday will be our last this year, where did 2013 go?  Jon has agreed we could take some  nibbles in, and so each table can bring some food in if they wish… not going to do a buffet this year, but no doubt there will be plenty of food around… So do come along and enjoy a Christmas night!

Alan is busy finding a good line up for us to listen to, so hope the weather is kind to us all…

and who manages to provide the line up each week…

Tony Jullings… our dear Prof… on his String Bass…

Craig back again with his Drums and smile…

Hopefully we will have some Vocals as well…

We should have some great music from these fine fellows, so hope to have a nice crowd to listen to live music, and I certainly hope I will be among them, no floods this week I hope.

Pre Christmas lunch…

This will make a change from the jazz posts! back to my blog diary…

Yesterday, some of my dear friends from Jazz, had our Christmas lunch and get together, 16 of us this year, I am very pleased that over the past few years I have been included in the good company of these friends.

As usual when everyone meets up it gets hilarious and at last I am beginning to feel a bit like Christmas.

We had a good meal at the Hatfield Hotel, where we went last year, and this year they had made some great alterations and it is even more pleasant as you have a lovely view of the sea, whilst keeping nice and warm, also after all the terrible floods there, it was good to see the sea nice and calm.

We had booked our  meals, so as usual Sandy had to make sure she had the list as we all usually forget what we have ordered… A big thank you for organising it all again Sandy, you are so good.

We all had loads to eat, and we had the room all to ourselves so we could have a good time!!! although it is rather hard to chat to the folk at the other end of the table…

So we all got invited back to Jean's and thank you Jean for a great time, and for that lovely log fire, sorry for making all those suds ! forgot you had a water softener!

Sandy and Janet you made good bar ladies!

Also the entertainment …ha ha especially the laughing dog, and sorry we all had a giggle whilst you mixed the hedgehog food, you are so good with all your birds and outdoor friends…A pleasure to be at your lovely home…

Thank you Roy for taking all us women, you are good, although we all know you love having us to look after!

Happy Christmas all you lovely people, and thank you all…

See you Thursday for Jazz…………

Welcome back as well to Tony Wilkins…Drums
maybe some vocals?

So hope to see a nice crowd to come and enjoy live music,
Should be fun as well…

8pm-10.30pm

Well it sounds like it was a really good night of jazz at the Sports centre on Thursday night, it was unfortunate that I was not able to go, got rather worried about the wind and rain, and did not think it would go ahead, however according to those who did go, it was a great night. ah well never mind as long as everyone had a good time, it did seem so strange though as only miss going when I am ill, and as I was ok it felt wrong…

Never mind, thanks Janet for doing the raffle for the band, and Heidi I hear kept people up to date about the weather, glad everyone got home safely.

Hope to see everyone there this Thursday!
