Good morning Jazzers…

Here we go again another week with not being able to have the Jazz nights, but if everyone in Britain would obey the rules we could be up and running soon… but so many people are of the opinion 'we know better'… and none of us like to be told what to do, but only thing we can do is hope that they find a vaccine and it works and we can get back to some sort of normal.

I am against all these foreign holidays at the moment, but some people are not fond of this beautiful country and they have been off to catch covid again and bring it home, sadly 'slowly does it' is not in their heads!! So baby steps are needed so we can ALL start to live again.

In the case of gigs… I, as you know follow Alistair Griffin and we have been enjoying weeks of music and fun with him on Face time, but starting on 20th August he is setting off to do gigs in peoples gardens… but that in itself will mean we all need a loo that the fans can use…  so not sure how that will work.  Of course being in a band is not quite the same,  but as we are all manic about cleaning everything down we touch, and lots of people cannot go inside houses… and then there is the distance…But we will see how it goes with Alistair's gigs, and we may get some ideas of what could be achieved outside playing of bands… of course the loos are very important especially as we folk get older!!!!!!!!

But keep hoping …and I am sure the band will be back somehow in the future. Keep Practising Gentlemen.

I do hope you are all managing to have some sort of life, so nice to see and hear from a few of you, and thanks Craig for getting in touch was getting worried about you.

A few photos from end of last year and beginning of this… goodness we are nearly half way through this year! nice shirts boys!!!A photo of my favourite 3 hope you are keeping as well as can be xxx

Jazzers …Old times

A little early but thought it may take you all a while to get to a video that I would love you to hear …
Back in the day 2011 the first December we went to the Sports Centre.

I cannot post it again as I deleted a lot of videos after a time… but it is on one of my blog posts…

So if you go to the side bar on Cakes and Al … go to 2011 December and click on the arrow to open the post and click on 'LIVE.' it is a video which is very badly shaky in some of it… but bear with it and at the end a little bit of Roy Symonds.

It was a really great special night and every one in the band played and were so happy as were the big crowd. Those were the days… so here is hoping all will be well someday and we will all be able to get together and hear these musicians playing for us again.

I do hope you are all keeping well, so nice to hear from some of you really appreciate it, as miss everyone.

Just a few random photos from  about the same time.

A few flowers to cheer…

A few flowers from garden, have more weeds in the patios than I need …and bushes so high cannot reach… good job I am still able to do a bit because love gardening! Also good it is a wild garden hopefully the weeds are just flowers in the wrong place!!!

The butterflies are everywhere at the moment…

Another Thursday has come around Jazzers…

Good morning lovely Jazzers, hope you are staying safe and following all the rules! I have been wearing my masks when in the shops I have been in , so hope you are also …as not many people think it helps! I tell you something  it is a lot better than the gas masks we had to wear in the war…as a lot of us oldies know!

Nice that although not many comments on here…my stats inform me a nice lot of folk look in on  Thursday and Fridays, so nice to know am not chatting with myself…

Last evening we had an 'out in the open' session with Alistair on Face Book, he does play for us on FB  a few times a week , but it was extra good last night, because  he was out in the garden playing…a few friends were there long time since he has heard applause … now that is an idea if this virus keeps us in!

Just wanted to say 'Alan could not get the link you sent me on mail no idea why.'?

I browsed through some photos to pop on here, and thought this one was something had put on last week but it was last year and I had put looked like a country night with the check shirts…

Missing seeing you all at jazz and another thank you for those who keep in touch…missing  the music, so lets hope it will soon be time to have jazz nights again…but even if it is only once a month to start with, fingers crossed we will meet up again.

Have a good safe week everyone…

Good Morning to all our Jazzers…

Another week has flown past, I am not sure I achieved as much as I would have liked although I have ventured out with my mask on and hand sanitiser at the ready, and ventured to Seppings the Butchers and the Pharmacy also the Opticians !

But I am still very wary of going out… I do hope I pluck up the courage to try and get back to some sort of normal as feel I am wasting my life… Also working away in garden and bungalow wearing any old thing and flat shoes, no make up… hair growing at a rate, do not even bother using hair dryer now as it has gone wavy…mmm not a bit like me however apart from aches and pains I am still smiling and trying to keep people interested in all things Jazz as well as keeping up with Alistair Griffin, who has been vital to my mental health as he has for all his followers, I know several musicians have been doing their bit on the computer trying to keep us going.

So keep popping in and if you want to pass anything on let me know, I do thank all those who keep in touch with me I appreciate it… Clover always rings for a chat… like me she is finding it a bit hard to start getting out and about… Great to hear from Tim and Christine last week they seem to be doing well. Lovely Emily so good to hear from you and glad you are enjoying Alistair…I have not heard from Craig though I know he is very busy so if anyone has heard could you let me know how he is? Tony Jullings I know you look in so hope all well with you. Tony Nicholls thanks for commenting…

I have been to see Roy Symonds and he sends his love and cyber hugs to all who know him, his health is not good but he has a smile on his face, and like me misses the hugs.

Jan sends her love and Jazz Janet…so do I to all of you lovely Jazzers…

Keith bless him greatly missed …his birthday next week… he got the raffle started all those years ago, that helped to keep the Sole Bay Jazz playing for us…Must add Simon and Kim are doing well, putting some great photos of sunrises and sunsets on face book.

Found this whilst browsing through the past Art Deco……great night…Don't they look good.

This from a recent great night before this virus stopped the Jazz…with our Tony looking up.

5pm Oh just heard outside music venues can happen… get practising Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Hello Jazzers…

Good morning to all our lovely Jazzers who are missing the Sole Bay Jazz Band playing every Thursday…

Have not heard much from some members of the band maybe they do not look on here, would love to know if you are all practising ready for the night or day when we can have the pleasure of your company again.

Thanks for those who do look in and for the comments.

Strange world we have been living in the past few months, and suppose with all the people who do not like rules, it will be a while before we can get back to anything near normal. But we will carry on hopefully keeping in touch with friends and family. I am missing my hugs that is for sure…

A nice little photo from earlier this year to remind us all of the band…

It is Robin's …our marathon man… birthday this Saturday so HappyBirthday Robin… the pubs will be open so know where you will be heading!!! with your lovely family no doubt.

Stay safe everyone and keep smiling… Cyber hugs from me to you all…
