Jazzers update!

Good morning Jazzer Folks hope all is well with you all…rather a short blog today…may add things later, but have to get in the garden to tidy as much as can after the wind. and while the sun is shining…everything seems to be broken down, ha ha and that includes me!

However thanks Neil for the great e email, with suggestions, good ones as well… and taking on his thoughts one of the items is ……Birthdays …I have not got all the birthday dates, so if anyone feels like saying when their birthday is I can pop it on here… Do know yours Emily!!!!Also Happy Birthday for Sunday Don xxx

Some sad news that Marian passed away last week, and strange as well , on her John's birthday, we miss dear John and now Marian has gone to join him up there with all our wonderful jazzers of the past.

Now we must look to the future and think of how the band can play for us again…I do not expect the band to go as far as Alistair but……

I had a wonderful time at Alistair's gig was lucky to get an invite on one of his social distance gigs, all over the country  in a camper van……they have been in gardens in fields, sheds… and the one I  was at Bressingham near the Gallopers !!! the sun shine for us although the wind was nippy! he has done 11 gigs so far, and I hope his voice keeps well as has a lot more to go. the weather has been so unkind in a lot of places, but they have managed rain or shine, anyone interested go to my time line on FB and see how he has done.

Thanks to all who keep in touch it is lovely …and for all my birthday wishes last week. nice to get out and about again even if socially distant …well did have hugs with family!!!!

Have not had time to look for photos at the moment but I will leave you with this one…

Sole Bay Jazz Jazzers…

Here we go again yet another week with out the Sole Bay Jazz Band… but this is just to hope you Jazzers  are all keeping well and fingers crossed we will all be meeting up again and listening to the band in the near future.

Not so many looking in nowadays so just a little bit of banter …to hope all is well.

Thanks for all those who do keep in touch, some lovely messages and Birthday wishes from some very nice people thank you. so good to hear from Jenny and Terry that was a nice surprise…nice lot of e mails as well…Lots of lovely birthday cards…I had a wonderful day with my family and had hugs something I certainly have been missing.

Christine sent me some photos of Tim's and her garden some rather gorgeous flowers, so happy to see those. Again thank you all for staying in touch.

Coming up next week Terry has a birthday, and Jean as well, so hope they have a very happy one. And if anyone else who is having a Birthday, have fun.

Strange times nowadays, some days feel that all is well and I do get out and about then get worried when hear the news, but onwards  we go one day at a time…

I have an invite to see Alistair Griffin this Saturday at Bressingham 30 of us have been picked to go, a dear friend , and like me a follower from the start  of this talented young man, is driving me …Alistair  is doing a tour and video's are posted every time he does a little private gig all over the country, must admit it looked a windy evening up in  Runswick Bay last evening…so hope to get some tips this weekend seeing how it works, I also believe Kev from Dixie mix has been to an outside gig, and know Simon and the band have had an outside gig…so here is hoping!!!!!

A few random photos… to remind us of what we are missing…

Stay safe everyone …

Thursday again Jazzers…

Good morning all you Sole Bay Jazz Fans… another week without the band playing for us… But thanks to Tony N for his videos, and Simon Denny for his great older ones on face book, they brought back some memories…

But on the bright side, we in East Anglia are better off than some with this covid virus, so let us hope that continues so we can all enjoy live music again…

Thanks to those  who made some nice comments, it is good to hear from you on here and of course thanks to all who do contact me in other ways, it has been a strange time.

It has seemed a long time since been able to go far… but on Monday I drove Jazz Jan to see Rosemary in her lovely country garden, with those fields beyond, so good to get out and first time with passenger, thanks JJ for putting up with the mask…… and thank you Rosemary for your welcome and lovely to see you, and Maddi ha she loves to run around so fast… then Dave came along so good to actually see people and chat, felt like 'normal' again… thanks for blackberries as well nice blackberry and apple crumble made yummy…

Oh yes and have had a hair cut,  ( hope your hair cut turned out well Dave… gone are the long wavy locks and short bob again, phew !

My Jan  (as so many Janet's) sends her best wishes to you all, at least we have been able to see one another the past few weeks at a safe distance, so appreciate that, thank goodness for face time for those who are out of reach.

Thank goodness for Alistair as well  as he has been on 3 times a week playing for us fans, and is going on what he calls his  virtual tour in peoples gardens or large places so can be at a safe distance, by invitation only… safe distance a factor…so here is hoping! that will be a way to see if Sole Bay can play for us outside!

So……getting back to Sole Bay have found a few check shirts for this week… to bring back some memories…then more Three lads…

Sole Bay Jazz Band…

Another Thursday without our lovely Sole Bay Jazz evening, but I do hope all you Jazzers are staying safe and well, and practising …hopefully enjoying music wherever you can.

Nice to hear from a few of the jazz fans, also good to see that some bands are managing to play outside for a small gig, so here is hoping!!! watch this space.

I had a lovely phone call from Roy Symonds he is managing his illness and missing being able to play anymore, however he is doing well bless him and sends his best to all who know him, he is like all of us missing hugs, ……

I had a little browse through some old jazz posts, did not find any from Tally Ho …but Simon Denny did and put it on FB so that was great…Neil…Pete… Tim… Ray…Alan…among others.

If any of you who do look in here. if there are any news you want to add just contact me, and thank you to all who do look in.

I did however find some great shirts again have I got a theme going here? this week it is Blue shirts…think I prefer those to the check ones!!! Enjoy.
