Fun night with the Sole Bay Jazz Band…

What  great night of live music and enjoyment at the Pavilion Ditchingham…

Great crowd of people and some wonderful talented musicians  playing live music…

Also to top that we had vocals and fun…

Tim…Mike…Tony…Craig…Trummy…Alan…
All gave us some very upbeat music, and Roy added some vocals as did our Jenny, Peter Elliot had a couple of numbers with the drums while Craig ate his cake, see below!!! so all in all everyone enjoyed it…
Thank you Sole Bay very much…

Special Photos!

Last night at the Sole Bay Jazz Band the gig was really great, and I will do the next post about that, but I have permission to post these photos!

Our lovely Heidi brought Luke in to show us all, and what a great baby he proved to be, amazing he got handed from one to another, and all the noise of the music (Heidi said he had nine months of listening to it)! So could not resist these gems…

IRIS…

It is such a lousy weather day again today, but David took this Iris in my garden on Sunday when the sun was shining, so thought it would cheer the blog up!

Peregrine update…

This morning at 7.02 the parent's both arrived only one piece of food though, they are growing so fast and all their down is nearly gone, the feathers are beginning to get ready for the flight! Will be a very tense couple of weeks when we all think the chicks are getting to near the edge, and this year there are 4 so wing space could be a problem…

This year they seem to have grown so fast and how great it is that they all seem to be healthy, although the 3 females do rather seem to keep the male in order, he often sits in the corner.
Very dull photo from the spire but you can see how they are getting on, pity the camera does not do them justice of how beautiful they really are.
Just screen grabbed this to show the wing span, good job they do not all do that at once…

Fun Lunch Time…

As promised (I hope) a little video from yesterday… Of course the sound may not be as good as it was in the room, and I thought David did a great job of keeping still whilst taking it, mine would have had  much more shake…

Well done to all …Mike…Roy…Ian…Bill…Peter…Dave…Barry…you all played so well and it was good of Bill to play on the bass guitar, so Barry could give us a tune on Bill's  piano. Such a pleasure to hear you all and to see you enjoying yourselves as well as us.

I have, as I mentioned, some great shots of you all, if I can have your e mails can send them on for your perusal!

This may be rather wide but will put it on anyway…I am sure David will ring me and tell me what I have done wrong! it looks as though unless you stop it after the music ends you will end up with all Davids U Tube music ha ha, not sure he meant for that to happen!
 Enjoy…………

However he has sent me a nice shot or two, this is one of them, and I have just screen grabbed a nice one of the chicks spreading their wings from the forum site…
Looking forward to going there again very soon…Will make sure Auntie Jan comes next time…

Thanks Son for the lovely meal and coffee etc, and for getting me to buy some decent books! Nice to see Gerry and Tony as well…

Sole Bay Jazz night…

Another good night of jazz and swing, and some great vocals from Roy and our Jenny…

A good crowd considering the horrible May weather… Thanks Jazz Janet for helping me out!

Thanks to Emma working hard, and to Sole Bay for the music…
Neil for taking some photos…June for having to drive all round Bungay!! And for all the good company that come to the Jazz on a Thursday night.

(Maybe we could have the speakers a bit different next week for us folk who sit on the side, as we do not hear the whole band,  the speakers seem to keep moving forward each week! that is me and my moan over)…

Waiting for ringing…

Well today is the day the little Norwich Chicks will be ringed, expect to see it on TV news later like last year…

This was just before the cam went off, waiting patiently now for the result of the sex of the chicks…
They seem to have grown so quickly this year…

I do not envy the chaps who have to perform this ringing of the chicks, as a very delicate operation, and for the climb they have to do…

17.42 Well the chicks have been ringed, they think there are two female and two male, but very hard to tell the small ones, but all look healthy… apparently the parents were very upset flying and calling, so maybe some good photos for those who were there today.

Yesterday was lovely sunshine, and today we have fog and cool! Cannot see much of the Peregrines on the Spire …Norwich looks very grey!

Could not resist these of the Peregrines yesterday… A different weather day today however, but all doing well…
The photos are taken from my computer, so blurred, but you can see how much they have grown.

Looking forward to getting to Norwich soon and meeting up with some of the watchers at the tent…

I have got to cut my "looking time" on here as costing a lot more BT is taking my pleasure away by saying I am using too many GB's for the  Option I am on, ah well, little and often then!

Jazz at the Pavilion 16th May…

and still the garden to weed! … ah a life of housework…Here goes…

A different line up for our pleasure this week…

Peregrines nearly!

This morning I went to Norwich to meet up with my Sons for breakfast… and go and see the Peregrines, but as there is a Festival on this weekend the "Bird Tent" was not there, so could not meet up with the forum folk.

However we did go and sit in the Cathedral and listen to some lovely music and singing as some people were practising, so that was good, and of course lots of foodie and book places to visit…

David took some photos just to prove we were there! But the Peregrines were not feeling friendly. so……
The Spire  but no Peregrines to see…
So this was from feeding time off forum…
Tonight the Peregrines have music drifting up from the Cathedral, some a little sharp, but some sweet, so hope they are able to get some sleep!

Just a quick post to say Craig (our great drummer) asked me to put the following gig up on here…

The Queens Head Public House, Bramfield nr Halesworth this Sunday the 12th.

The Michelle Bouchard Band will be playing… This is a new venue for the band, so hope they get a nice crowd of followers to hear them…

A mixture I believe of Jazz & Swing and a Jam session the second half…

Starting at 8pm…

Sorry so late putting it on Craig as have been gardening…

ANOTHER SOLE BAY JAZZ SUCCESS…

Well done and thank you Sole Bay for a  very good evening of live music and singing…

Another good crowd with a few more new faces to join the faithful weekly fans of jazz!

Ron…Tony…Tim…Craig
and no it is not the same photo from last week, I found that was a good place to take the photo…
We had a nice mix of music with the added pleasure of Roy, once again giving his usual happy vocals…

Jenny came and sang a couple of songs, which we all find great… to have her getting her voice back so she can entertain us, lovely tone Jenny…

I keep saying we are so lucky, and we are, to have such talent locally, nothing like live music…

Thanks Emma you did well with all the crowd, and Jon of course nice to see you
pulling the pints…

In fact all in all a very entertaining evening, lovely friendly place with great music.
What more can we ask for…
