My Mum & Dad have been married 56 years and He-Who-Doesn't-Blog and i have been married 30 years next year - maybe i should get you to make a cake. What is 30 years I wonder??? Pearls??? I'll tell you a secret - every decade i have told him it is pearl and he buys me some!!! i think he knows I am tricking him but he plays along.

Yes it's quite rare, isn't it. Such a beautiful cake, Alifan. My cakes aren't neat like that at all. They're quite yum, though. I just made fudge! I'm quite pleased with myself, having failed the first batch. Just put the lot back into the saucepan and did round 2. Perfect!

How long does it take you to ice, say, that cake?

Has that lovely son of yours (you know which one) been in touch to say he's fine and dandy and doing London by the way? Hope so.

Hi Lynn... thanks for the praise, wow I love fudge, have not made any for ages....

As for the cakes it depends on the size etc of the cakes, but the flowers do take a while to make as I have had no formal training so it is read the book look at the flowers in the garden and try!!

Did not hear from Dive yesterday just hope he had a good time, and will soon get back to nice Dive and not ranty one...suppose it is being to clever for his own good, he takes things rather to heart...a bit like me....

Looking forward to seeing you one of these days....for that cuppa...

I'd really love that, Alifan. It's been a difficult year. Not been to Norfolk at all! Hope to be getting my car back on the road soon, so maybe can before xmas.

You're so good at the cakes. Do you sell them at all?

The fudge turned out well. I love it too, though in small doses. I offered some to my son but he got all "ok, say goodbye to your teeth then" (he's studying with view to being a doc!) so I now have a batch in the fridge with me restricting myself to a piece a day! How long will it last?

Hee know the feeling Lynn.. dare not have too many goodys about otherwise I eat them all up....hence the weight!

Cakes... yes sell them all the time, not sure if the boys think I make a profit if you count how much boxes, boards, ribbons, marzipan, and icing fruit, brandy etc plus the hours I spend making them, but it is a lovely way to pass my time!!!!even if the back aches most of the time....

I bet it does. I get arm ache just whisking up my cakes. I don't have a Magimix or anything. By the way, it was kind of a serious question; how long will my fudge be ok to eat, do you think? !

Lynn I think a week is about all you can keep fudge in the fridge .But you can freeze it for up to 3 months....

I have jsut made a chocolate sponge, that will not be good for the figure. but what the h..l got to have some pleasure!!!

Quite! Thanks, Alifan, didn't think about freezing. I shall put a pot of it in now, for Christmas! Perfect.

Okay, Alifan, another question - I've just made some honeycomb. I'm in the mood for cooking Christmas sweets now! Do you think I can freeze that too?
