This is a Madeira to be cut for those who do not like fruit cake.....very hard to get a nice finish as the cake is rather soft.. still looks OK and I had to cut the top off to level so I know it tastes good!!!!
Middle tier .....Dive managed to find the Macro for the close up's hope they come out better now....

Jazz again

Hope you do not mind me posting your pic Ruth, but if you look in from your overseas post just want to wish you well and say we will miss you, especially Chris. good luck and hurry home safe at the end of the year.....will keep in touch by e mail....
This is just so great.... Tony was sitting beside me watching the band getting ready to play, so I had an impromptu very close up listen...
This line up is a bit different as Tim was away, playing a proper gig as they said!!!we are honoured to be able to hear such great jazz from the talented people who come and play for us every week, so thanks to all of you.....brilliant as always....and thanks to Philip and the wonderful staff at the Flixton Buck who always make us welcome, and gives us great sausage rolls at the end of the evening.....
Well suppose it had to happen I take so many photo's at jazz, that someone said "I will let you take one of me if I can take one of you", so here I am!!!thanks Ruth!! see you all Thursday I hope....

Local show

Just had to write a thank you to my dear Jan for taking us out last night to the local Public Hall to see "Return to the Forbidden Planet"

Jan said we should support the local shows so we can keep the place going, so many halls have been closed down through lack of support...so she got us tickets,

We did not have much of an idea of what it was all about, but have to say well done to all involved, it was really great...

"Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece"

And Dive it could have been you playing telstar!! great guitarist..

The whole hall had been made to look like the inside of an intergalctic Starship Albatross.....
Stewart White our local news man was on the big screen introducing it, in good Shakespeare talk!!

They went through the start of the flight, and showed us what we all had to do to help if the ship lost power, and believe me they even put the lights up and everyone was doing the hands in the air and other little bits to get it going again, what a laugh, the audience was very varied from children, teenages, to middle age and OAP's, and it was really good..Even the programme was called 'in flight magazine.'..

Apparently the show was first produced in 1980....and Shakespeare's script and lyrics.. well do not think he wrote 'Great Balls of Fire' or 'Good Vibrations" but everything fitted so well.

So thank you Waveney Light Opera Group , because you really deserve a medal for such a performance.. and you will see us at your shows again I am sure...

Thanks again Jan for a great evening, and for ferrying Ivan and I as well.. Hope D realised what he had missed.... especially the parts that were on loan from Flixton Air Museum....
