Jazz night with friends…

Thank you one and all, for a lovely evening at Ditchingham, with the Jazz, and great friends some I have not seen for a long time, so sorry to have missed out on so much, will try not to be a hermit again!!! Thanks to those who actually do look in the blog, lovely to know I am not just chatting to myself.…and again thank you all for welcoming me back I must say it made my evening when one said they did not recognise me as was not wearing my high heels, oh dear this arthritis and old age certainly took those away from me! but glad to see trainers have come to the rescue !

Firstly, I am sorry to have missed saying goodbye to dear Sheila Denny, but thank goodness, even with a rotten bad head, Barry gave me a lift to the jazz,,and so was able to at least see some of the family, and it is a lovely family, I know how much they all loved their Mum, but she will be with Keith now, so they can rest knowing they have done their best.

Well a big thank you to Fudge once again for the photos, and being such a good friend, Tony you are right it is far better listening live, however your videos are really so good, so thank you, and the Raffle Ladies as usual doing a great job.

Our lovely 5 piece Jazz gentlemen, with plus 2 joining in…with Barry singing (which is sounding so good nowadays) played really well… I did manage to get to say thank you at the end of the evening this week.

Thanks as well to the 'Coven table' as we love to call some dear friends, for saving me a space, and having a good giggle, naughty Neil… and thank you for the lift home.

Welcome back Beryl, good to see you. It was a particularly good evening, but then we usually come away from Ditchingham say the same thing every week. Great that the band are able to slip into so many different styles so easily - this of course helps to keep the art alive and fresh. Must just mention Alan who has done a sterling job with admin, and continues to do so. Plus good to hear him using the banjo occasionally.

It is another sad milestone to say goodbye to Sheila. I well recall Thursday nights at Tally Ho! socialising with Keith (Denny) and some good pals now long since absent. Also our so called 'coven' group is much depleted, but most of us like to keep the flame to the best of ability. Regards to all, Neil

Thanks Neil so good to be a little part of that Coven Table now, and that I may continue there.
Yes a great night when Keith asked me to do a raffle for the band, thought he was mad but I loved it, and now Clover and Christine are carrying on with it, it is so important.
Those days with Sheila and Keith, when Tim used to pick us up and take us to hear the bands, They were the best company over the years, lots of memories. Lovely family.
Love your little sarcasm dear man!! Big hugs for commenting as well x
