Sole Bay Jazz Band evening…

A nice crowd last evening at The Sports Pavilion to listen to The Sole Bay Jazz Band…

A bit of a different evening with a more big band theme with Martin who gave us some lovely melodies with Ray at the piano, Tim and Martin (looking smart) playing Sax and Clarinet in harmony sounding good. our great back line Alan…Tony… Craig. Then our Barry singing a couple of songs, so a really nice evening altogether.

We are so lucky they come and play for us each week, I do miss some of the interaction they used to have, but like me they are getting older (sorry lads) and it is these colder dark wet evenings when one would rather be sitting in front of a fire, they do a great job, even if they get tired. (was that a little doze Tony? ha ha) And I usually moan because they are sometimes too loud as I have good hearing, but I do go to hear and see the band and meet up with old friends, as do a lot of the long term jazz people, nice though to see some new faces again this week.

Was sad to hear that one of our dear friends Bill Skinner is not in the best of health, so thinking of you Bill and your family, what talent and fun you always brought to the band.

Thank Clover and Christine for the raffle, that and the bar help keep the band coming along each week, thanks as always for digging deep for the raffle and it is always good prizes, thanks to Don again for folding the tickets.

I know Alan sometimes has a struggle to find certain players, so come on some of you who used to play for us as Delia says 'Lets be having you" come along and sit in a couple of numbers now and then,  but I suppose most players have their own bands now and are busy.

Thank Emily keeping everyone happy with the bar nice to see your smiling face.

I did mange a couple of photos without blinding the band with my flash and Fudge has some on her FB page for the Sole Bay.
