Sole Bay Jazz …Talent

Last evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham… The Sole Bay Jazz Band and a guest played us a storm of a jazz great time!

The band are always great but sometimes they get an even bigger lift when a guest turns out to be someone who has played with a couple of them years ago you get a really good vibe and everyone ups their game, so we were treated to a very talented and entertaining evening so thanks to one and all.

Tim playing so good as always great Sax and Clarinet, the same for Julian who was guest for the evening, very talented young man and fitted in so well, loved the singing also, …come back soon, …Ray who's fingers took on a beat of their own goodness great piano playing…Alan on Guitar looking like he loved every minute, Tony on that Bass also playing so well…Craig, well of course always good but was set free last night and some really great drumming… so thanks one and all, I loved it and by the sound of the applause so did every one there, and what a good crowd…

Great that so many turned up to the jazz, just like old times, sorry for those who missed the night because of ill health do hope you will be back soon to enjoy the jazz…

Thanks Christine and Clover for a great job with the raffle… and of course thanks to you all who dug deep again, a lovely raffle as always. also for Duncan.Jan and me ha ha for the ticket folding. Some people say we should only have one raffle ticket, but I love to see everyone laying out their tickets on the table, it is great fun.

Lovely to see Emily back serving all the drinks with a smile and thanks for the help Em.

Nice to know that Ron Hockett is improving well after his big operation, keep getting fitter Ron and come back and play again for us.

A couple of photos…

I was going to give the blog up for the Sole Bay as do not get comment nowadays but the stats show that a lot of you look in, so will keep it going, it is just my little diary so know a lot of folk have a giggle at the lack of finesse but I do love the band and try to encourage people to come along to hear the music. We are so lucky to have them each week.

I think it is about time I became one of Beryl's bloggers. I go along with your comments on last nights jazz Beryl, it was first class playing from all the band, they are certainly first class musicians. I am sorry that some people prefer to spend their time on mobiles and tablets etc. They are not only missing out on good music, but I consider it very rude to the musicians.

Oh Hello lovely Horace thank you so much for your comment, I cannot tell you how often I have wanted to give it up but always know people do look in but week after week I do get disappointed that no one has an opinion yet on Face Book people seem to put their very private thoughts out there …and I like to promote the band… . So thanks again and glad of your comment, I think texting or playing on phones when one is out at a gig is awful but then some are taped to their fingers one thinks …as is the many people who talk loudly all the time the band is playing but, suppose they do give money to the raffle if nothing else!!!And I am often told it is a social club, just that like most things people do not do things quietly ha ha. Thanks again you are a gentleman.
