Sole Bay Jazz Band

Another good night of live jazz music at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham… last evening…

Nice to see a really good crowd, think it is time to get folks to bring their garden chairs as otherwise we will have to do what Jon suggested and we play musical chairs! But how good to see that new faces come along as well as the regular jazz fans.

It was a very talented evening of music, and lots of interaction from the band, even if there was so much talking going on Ron managed to give those drums a good thumping to cover those who just go to listen… Great fun though. And such talent as I cannot say enough about, we are so very lucky that Alan manages to get us such good line ups.

Some rather nice vocals from Barry ……without the hat!

Not great photos but as usual Fudge has managed to get some good ones on her Face Book 'Sole Bay Jazz'

Including some photos of Fudge and me fooling around… sorry if we disturbed people! we were taking photos of the band at the same time!!!

Today her daughter Jess is marrying her Ted, so wishing them all the very best in their future life together, great youngsters.

Thanks to Clover and Chris another great raffle night, and I won a prize ……

Heidi as always smiling nice and busy last night…thanks for all you do.

As again there are no comments,so lets try and get something going......what are the audiences opinion on the playing style of Richard " trummy " Mayhew ? My personal opinion is although he is a first class trombonist why does he make the " slush pump " sound like a trumpet. The fancy playing was called triple tonguing in my day. I am sure if he played pure trombone it would sound wonderful. moan over.

Ha ha young man you are stirring up a storm! he is clever, I actually think Bill Brewer is a great melodic player on his trombone !do you?

Yes, I do Beryl. If "Trummy" used the same style , well what more can I say.

Ha ha we do not appear to have anyone else offering a comment!

It's because they DO play differently that makes them interesting surely?

Ah at last someone with another opinion hello Alan, yes they are all so talented, Neil is trying to get more people to comment and get different opinions , but no one is biting but glad you commented it is nice to know people do bother.

Good point Alan. They are both talented trombonists and we are very lucky to have them play for us.

I do not know why I put Neil in answer for Charlie Boy but just to clear things up I do not know who Charlie Boy is, however it is not Neil
