Flixton Air Museum

Sunday was the Flixton Air Museum open day …with the big band playing and lots to see as always…Memories from the past makes one realise how lucky we are to remember them!

There was also a great fly past of the Spitfire which we just caught as we got to the Buck at Flixton…I just managed to get the camera out, but of course too late to get a good photo, but lovely to see it…and hear that engine noise…

We had a meal booked with the Coven crowd, thanks for including us…and also Tim for driving us 3 Witches…

We had a good meal for us 13 . well it is my lucky number! so thanks Phil and all your helpers very nice.

Did not get to take any photos of the band as could not get too near, but no swing dancers this year which was sad, never mind one couple did a dance which was nice to see.

Had a nice walk down through the nettles …well there is a nice wooden path! to the little bit of river, and the sun came out for us, lots of dragonflies but too fast for me to get on camera.

Came back to the band and had a naffi type mug of tea, very nice…

Then a walk through all the lovely memorabilia that they have there, well done to everyone for keeping all the past things so well.

Thanks to everyone for a good day…

the Spitfire ha ha just caught it on the last run as we arrived…

this is on an old post of mine but could not resist it…

watching the dragonflies…

Had grand daughter to stay Thursday evening and over the weekend. We saw a camouflaged Dakota flying low into Norwich airport. Did it visit Flixton?

Yes B, a good lunch at the Buck, great company & a swinging band -couldn't ask for much more (maybe a glimpse of the spitfire? At least you managed to get a shot, however small!!) Lovely picture of the 'dragonflies' - sure they are in there somewhere! xx

Hello Beryl

There should have been another comment from Sandy, but it appears Blogger is maybe doing strange things, hence I will try to see if there are aberrations from a different machine. Perhaps we can discuss tonight.

Here we go again! I was apologising for not saying goodbye last Sun - but we were keen to get to Leonies for our dominoes competition (it takes all sorts!) & think you were still at the back of the museum. Sorry you now have a cold - poor Tim was also suffering last night - & Jenny also not well. Despite the runny nose, Tim & Co gave us a great evening of lively jazz. Hope you better v.soon
