Snow………

Well all that shifting of snow yesterday was good! or was it? as another lot came down last night…

Pity the Council cannot find us up here, as the roads and pavement are very dangerous, Oh dear I remember the days when the roads and paths were cleared, and we had lots more snow than this, the children all walked or had sledges to school. Whatever has happened to our technology? Snow falls as promised and the whole Country falls apart.

Sorry but wish all those snow ploughs at the airports could come and clear the roads so that ordinary people who live in this Country could lead their lives instead of jetting off, Sorry just a rant, must be because I am stuck in and dare not go for a walk as scared of slipping over.

The Schools as well…lovely memories of walking to school and no heating when we got there, playing snowball fights in the playground, but nowadays the schools shut and the children all go out in the snow and play all day, Is it just me? Health and Safety gone mad!

Still I suppose it is getting lots of indoor work done here, things that have not been done for ages, and shifting snow has kept me busy!

Keep safe all those who have to venture out, maybe the Council will come and dig us out and we can get onto the roads that have thankfully been cleared, in the meantime, back to the housework…Thank goodness for the computer!

Just a little addition for today…This morning  I rang the Suffolk County Council to see if I could make this Close and the road leading here a bit of a priority… They said they would do the best they could and lo and behold this afternoon at about 4pm the Suffolk Council lorry appeared and has spread a nice lot of grit on our Close, so hopefully with the thaw that has been promised we will be able to get out and about again shortly, at the moment it is all turning to a horrible grey brown slush! so if it does not freeze tonight, life should be getting back to normal!

Well hello Beryl

What it is to have influence! Did you promise those council guys a picture on this blog? Now there's a thought - hope they were not disappointed when none appeared. You should-a been there with the camera.

Things are looking good I believe for Thursday 24th. A good line-up. It may be freezing weather, and if so perhaps we can take our ice skates, just in case.

By the way, have you seen the news reports about some bright marketing people selling bottled iceberg water, supposed to do wonders for all sorts of things, including a marvelous pot of tea. The item I read said it was £13 per bottle - well, it has a good vintage, 12,000 years old I believe. Must ask Heidi or Jon if it can be stocked. Fairly sure Ian and Terry will buy some to go with their whisky.

Hello lovely cheerful fellow.

Still stuck in here even though the Council did turn up, not sure if they listened to me or it was our turn however it is very lousy out there, and may dig the drive out this morning or may not!

Think you all better stick to the neat whiskey as the water sounds a bit dodgy!
Hope we can all meet at Jazz tomorrow. xx
