Set the wedding cake up on Sunday morning at the venue, (this is taken at mine before I went....) the wedding reception took place at Manor Barns, and wow what a place, really swish, and I have to say "wedding inspire" who were the ones who were putting white chair covers on with burgandy ribbons etc and lots of other beautiful things, made the place really special, so hats off to them, glad they liked the look of the cake as well.....
I will hear how it went no doubt, but the bride and groom could not help but be impressed when they walked in......I know I was....
This is the middle tier....
The top tier....
I was really pleased with it, after not being sure the flowers were OK as there were quite a lot of them....Hope they liked the taste of it as well.....

Amazing, Alifan. Tell me, do you get the wobbles as you carry it? I remember helping out a hotelier friend when she was stuck for waitresses. She asked me to carry it through for cutting. Eek, I thought. She just said "well, you carried your babies around, didn't you? Think of that." It was easy; ultimate care but confidence :)
Yes Lynn sometimes it gets a bit nervy, but so far have not dropped one yet!
Glad you like it...
Those are beautiful! I'm impressed that what with all the love excitement with Katie and Dive that you could keep your hands from trembling during your decoration. Congratulations.
Did you make this? It is beautiful and almost makes me wish I were getting married just to have a cake like this - and a ring, the ring would be nice. ;)
Hello Lupine lady, well it was such happy news wasn't it that the hands behaved!
And cali thank you... if you go to Beryls cakes in my bar you can see a few more....and as for a ring, well never thought Dive would be in love again so you never know!
Thank you for the tip about Beryls cakes - that was a nice way to start my morning. Of course now I am craving cake! I do remember the sushi cake you made for Dive. I thought at first it was real!
This is one of your most beautiful yet! It's really gorgeous.
Thanks Robyn....you are a sweet person... to say such nice things...
Wow! That's a doozy.
Lynn's right about the scariness of carrying those things. I remember the time you had me drive one down to the Waveney with that huge steep slope in front of the hotel. I was panicking!
Turned out okay though.
Yes.. that was scary...
Just heard from the folk about Sunday's wedding and the cake was very well received.. so pleased to know that....
Hi,,,just popped over to see if there were any cake pictures and WOW, that's one lovely cake! The bride & groom must have been very pleased. I'm very impressed myself with your artistry. It's obvious you really love doing it!
Thank you Cynthia.... yes I love it, and when the bride and groom see it for the first time, and I find out they love the result, it is a great feeling... mind you not sure how long I can continue it gets harder as I get older, a lot of work involved with the cakes, still. I will do it as long as I can....
So where's this correspondence from the elusive Full then? :)
He was playing at a gig last night Lynn, expect he will get back to blogging soon....
Absolutely amazing! What bride wouldn't be ecstatic at seeing this magnificent work of art. I do love your cakes, Ali.
