The Chorus of St Cecilia…

Last evening Jan and I went to the '20th Year Anniversary Concert' to see The St Cecilia Choir, at the Pavilion Theatre Gorleston…this time it was called "Regards to Broadway", some wonderful hits from the Broadway Musicals…Carousel…My Fair Lady…Oliver… Mamma Mia…The Greatest Showman…The Producers…Chicago  (well done Hannah and Charlette what a performance)
The voices of Neil and Philip…Sam…Charlette …Hannah …Bracken…these young singers are brilliant… and all the wonderful cast …young Max wow…(the show must go on… had an op on Wednesday and managed one song with Bracken, Sam and Hannah well done young man). Not a dry eye in the house.

Every time we go to the concerts they get better and better and last night was exceptional, it could have been a West End show with top stars, and as far as the packed house and the cheers and standing ovations it certainly felt like it…

Well done again to Mathew Hardy what a star  a great musical director,  Chris on Piano…  Arthur, Drums and  a lady on String Bass… to all the production assistants stage manager and front of house, once again you have brought such pleasure and talent to Gorleston Theatre.

Of course my great pleasure is seeing Jan's daughter, my niece Elizabeth singing in the choir again, James her hubby, and Max their son at 8 who is in the junior choir, my head was going from side to side to watch them. The audience many of whom had children and friends on stage, so proud as we always are.

So many bad things seem to be happening everywhere nowadays, so it was especially wonderful to lose oneself in the magic of music and singing.

(Not sure about those teenagers who were loudly yelling and already fairly well not sober waiting for the night club to open at 11pm last night)…bet they do not feel as good as us this morning. Thank goodness for the old days!
