Sole Bay Jazz Band evening

There was only five players and one singer plus a guest for a couple of numbers, however the Sole Bay Jazz Band played up a storm at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham last evening…

So good that the players were able to give us some great music and nice singing from Barry, plus Ray gave us a couple of numbers on drums, nice as he may come in handy when Craig is on overload with his day job.

Tim on Saxophone and Clarinet…love that Baritone he made lots of laughs with his comments as always, Derek bless him still going strong and blowing well at nearly 91 but still worry about him on that stool! Craig as always those Drums were going well and Tony good to have him back on his Bass, did you doze Tony? Alan on Guitar and Banjo letting it all flow! Our man in black with a hat which makes it hard to photograph with those lights!

So a good night.

Sorry to see so few people there such a shame as live music is the only way to go and without the crowd we could lose it, so come along and enjoy a good evening of live music please let's keep this going, after 7 years at Ditchingham we need the fans to come along.

Good raffle thanks Clover and Christine and to the 'boys' for all the ticket folding.

Thanks Kim for the smiles behind the bar and for helping with the change.

"I would like to add on here  a message from Tim …that one of our great players Tony Parsons who had been recovering well has had a set back, so we all wish him the best of health and come back soon. As many of you know Tony plans gigs at The Angel in Halesworth once a month, and they would like to carry on there, so at the moment the next dates will be Sunday lunch time the 25th November and the 30th December, hope a nice lot of jazz fans will go along to keep this going. We do need live music…"

Just discovered your excellent blog, Its been almost 3 years since we managed to come , My Thursdays have been too busy up until recently, So glad we came over last night. Wonderful band, fabulous musicians, lovely friendly crowd, and we shall come as often as we can.
Craig is a fabulous drummer, and it was a great privelidge to sit in for a couple of numbers on his drums. although as I said to him I prefered to hear him play ! although if he needs a night off anytime, it would be a great pleasure to stand in for him if necessary, if they run short of spare drummers! Thanks for the mention I hadnt expected to be mentioned in your blog !
regards

A pleasure Ray and lovely to see you both again, sad that the crowd was not as big as it sometimes is. We are so lucky to have live music every week.
