Roy's Birthday…

Yesterday was a lovely day …lots of sunshine with a little breeze …when a party of us from Jazz went along to The Wherry at Geldeston to celebrate Roy's 80th birthday.

Roy has not been well of late so it was fingers crossed that he could come along, and thank goodness he could, it was nice to see him smiling, eating and chatting even if he may suffer later (hope not)

Janet who runs the pub has made a good job of making it friendly and sweet, nice bunting and old jugs hanging a real country feel, with a lovely courtyard, and garden she does good food as well. Her and her staff made us very welcome, she did not realise how many musicians were there, she would have like them to play!!! maybe we could have a jam session there?

So good of her to let me cut the birthday sponge up and whilst in the bar area found a gentleman ? who used to come to our old pub, so lots of memories as well chatting to him, I do hope Janet can make a real go of the place as it is a hard business nowadays, but she seems to be willing to take it all on, and it is not new to her as she has been a landlady before…one of my boys went for a meal the other night with friends and had a great meal, it turns out he mentioned me so had a nice chat about that. Once a barmaid always one I suppose!!!!

Well done JJ and the coven table so pleased to have been invited to help Roy enjoy his day, glad the wonky sponge tasted better than it looked!!!!Thanks for the compliments. Miss being able to do my catering and cakes but never mind. Thanks Jan for taking us sorry you could not have a drink!

Thanks to one and all and wasn't I good to not get the camera out? or was I? we do not like our photos taken but maybe should have taken one as it was such a lovely day. Thanks again.
