Farewell to Don…

Today the two Janet's and me went to say farewell to our friend Don Friston, a very nice little celebration of his life, good to see some 'jazzers' there amongst all his many friends… and great to hear When the Saints Come Marching in when the coffin was carried in, and a bit of Louis Armstrong  Wonderful World on the way out.

I cannot remember such a lovely man always the gentleman and even with all the suffering in the past years pushing himself as often as he could to come to his loved Jazz, he will be greatly missed, he could always find a different piece of jazz music for the Sole Bay to play.

Hope you are up there with all the old jazzers Don.

Loved the little poem…
If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I'm gone speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves that I have known
Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So sing as well.
