Good morning Jazzers…

Another Thursday with no Sole Bay Jazz Band… and I do feel for all the bands and the people who sing and play, who are not able to perform at the moment, but one day at a time is the only way forward…so…

I hope you are all keeping well, good to hear from Tim and Christine this week, missing everyone so do keep in touch…

Dear Neil has come to my rescue with some giggle photos… so we will start with this, which I must admit has foxed me although I feel I know some of the faces… have a go at guessing!

So please get in touch if you have some photos…Peter Parr left me with some which I passed on to some of you jazzers… so maybe send some for the blog?

Then I found a few more from Halloween so enjoy and have a giggle…

Morning friends…

Another Thursday has come around, and no Sole Bay Jazz tonight again… but we must look forward to the days and nights when we can enjoy live music together again…

Alistair finished his tour of Social Distance …and ended up with not feeling that well but him and Dave did a wonderful job entertaining us at all those locations…

Rosemary was intending to have a garden gig with some musicians, as Alan was and Dixie Mix also! but of course some people did not follow the rules and so we have been banned down to 6 people meeting up, so let us pray all will soon be well and we can have some live music again.

In the meantime, I have been having a browse through some of the past photos and have come up with a few little giggles! plus a few of the band… plus a few photos to cheer!

Our Emily is going to have a birthday this Saturday, 21 bless you Em, we all miss that smiling face, and hope to see you soon.

Happy Birthday to anyone else who has a birthday this month!

Thanks for all those who have kept in touch on here and elsewhere…I am heading it on the jazz label as some folk do not look at the blog unless it is on the that heading…

Stay safe everyone …

Morning music fans

Well that is strange, seems I write my blog on a Thursday for Jazz and even though I said last week I was finishing it, somehow I find myself on here!

So just to hope all you jazzers are keeping well, some news that gigs that were planned  in gardens have been cancelled because of the new rules that come into effect on Monday about only 6 people can meet up now instead of 30, mmmm that is such a shame, I do not know if Dixie Mix have been cancelled but maybe they will let me know.

It seems such a shame as the tour that Alistair did went well, and everyone was sensible, seems it is just a minority that do not bide by the rules and that spoils it for everyone else. so stay safe one and all and let us hope that all will be well.

The Face book has changed over to a new layout and I am not happy but suppose they like to muddle us old ones up, and now this blog is changing, so far I have tried the new layout but have reverted to the old as not happy with the new one, but they will change it regardless, a bit like the supermarkets they let you remember where the goods are, then when you think you will just pop on and get groceries quickly they have moved the things!!!

That is life I suppose!

Stay safe and well everyone… and if you want to let people know if there is anything about music or any messages, let me know and I will pop them on here.

Missing you all so much, keep practising the instruments as one never knows!

Just borrowed this from Alistair's fan site the last gig he did on his tour of social distance…at the Angel of the North.  The outside gigs can  be done safely but of course not at the moment.

A good new release…

This is one of the latest cd's that Alistair Griffin has released …it has made the charts find it on Apple or i player and have a listen…

He is nearing the end of his "Tour of Social Distance" where he and Dave have been playing and singing all around the country since the 19th of August, in peoples gardens on a narrow boat in tents in sunshine rain and wind…

As you know if you read the blog I am a great fan of Alistair and our fan club leader Anne is pleased to say since the tour the numbers of fans have gone from our original 200 to nearly 800.

His new album will be released shortly but if you get the chance have a listen to this single…

Live music…

Good morning lovely people, as not many of the followers of The Sole Bay Jazz Band, seem to be reading the blog nowadays… and only a few have been  contacting me …Have decided time to call it a day.

I will still post about live music or any sort of music if you get in touch and want to hear about anything do let me know. But as only a few folk give me news, well you do not want to hear me just chatting.

Thanks to all the many fans that have enjoyed the bits of news, but until life gets back to a bit more normal,  when hopefully we will have some news, this will go back to being just my Blog Diary.

Hope everyone keeps safe and take care of yourselves. Beryl xxx
