Garden…

A few flowers, most of the garden is rather sad with the wind and rain, but a few corners look good lots of bees some butterflies…

Lots to do, weeds grow quicker than flowers… however my little birds are loving somewhere to hide from the Seagulls, Magpies,Jackdaws and the flipping Pigeons who clear the bird table of seed before the blackbirds can feed their young, which are so cute still not got tails, and I do water them sometimes as they do hide in different places!

Good job I love a wild garden!

A gig coming up!

Just had a message from Ray Simmons and am awaiting an e mail to see what he has heard from 'The Locks'  Geldeston Chairman Graham, But it looks like we have a gig go to on the 7th July 7.30-10pm

It will be outside I would think, so you will need to wrap up as our weather seems to be a bit strange this Summer!!!!! The road is being done up but as most of you know it is a rocky ride there. Unless you have a boat and go up the river.

Here is the mail from Ray…

"THE SOLE BAY FIVE AT THE LOCKS"…

7.30pm-10pm on Wednesday 7th July.

Tim Densham (Clarinet), Alan Cugnoni (Guitar), Mick Betts (Bass), Craig Hipperson (Drums), Ray Simmons (Trumpet/Keyboard), Are delighted to welcome you to the Locks Inn Geldeston, now under community ownership, with their first jazz event of 2021.

Enjoy the music from the Jazz Age and the Swing Era with some of the region's best loved musicians and maybe featuring a guest or two for good measure…

At the moment, for the band there is only free beer with the prospect of passing the hat around!

So you will have to pretend there is a raffle and dig deep as you always did.

I had better add that we do have to follow the rules and they do stay the same until July 19th… so it will be Social Distance please and if go in the pub do not forget masks.

Stay safex

Another Thursday

Good morning Friends and Jazzers… Yet another week with out the Sole Bay Gentlemen… But as there have been so many crowds mixing during the sport which has been allowed to be played, I doubt we will have a clear time yet , because Covid may have been  spread with those people who seem to have different rules to us mere mortals…

But onward we go and fingers crossed, those rich people with different ideas what social distance is…will allow us to be entertained sensibly one of these days, do I sound bitter, well I am and cannot believe the pictures on TV when many of us have spent the past year or more having to isolate…

But never mind one day at a time and as they say "Our day will come"

I have a FB memory come up today from 5 years ago so will have to be happy with the many memories at the moment…

I hope you are all keeping safe and well, and enjoying this rather strange weather we seem to be having… the garden in which I have spent many back aching hours this past few weeks, got completely ruined with the rain and wind… however I have lots of string tying the tall plants up again as hate to cut them all down. I cannot reach the high shrubs so they are doing their own thing! just spent another hour out there this morning , chatting to the blackbirds the 2 latest ones are so cute, but am in the habit of watering them in the evenings as they hide in different places!!!

So hot outside this morning, glad I got up very early and did some baking, although it is for the freezer, because left out I just eat it!!!!

Have a good week one and all…Fingers crossed Wimbledon will keep us amused for the next couple of weeks,  looking forward to meeting everyone again for some jazz…

Morning friends and Jazzers…

Another Thursday and still no live jazz, however hopefully this virus will soon be beaten into a bit of a lull with all the vaccinations … Just hope that those who say they do not want vile things put into their bodies so they will not have jabs! I wonder if they smoke and eat the wrong foods or even drugs, does make me a bit upset to think that a lot of us have had to be on our own during this pandemic, so lets hope they will come to their senses so we can get this home of ours safe to live in again.

Thanks Neil for a couple of photos am still guessing who they are!!!! I have also had some from FB memories and I had a look through old ones so hope you enjoy them. We have had some great times at jazz in the past, will be great to see everyone again.

Thanks to all those who do keep in touch… I am pleased that I have ventured out a few times thanks to family and friends, just fingers crossed tomorrow Optician will give me good news with eyes so I can keep driving for a while longer.

Have been very busy in the garden… lots still  to do but all the seedlings are in and as have been watering them, this rain will do them a lot of good. I did not think the bin men would empty the bin for the couple of weeks when it has been collected , it was so heavy, I watched out the window each time, my old neighbours used to have green bins and always allowed me to pop extra in, but they are no longer here, and concrete seems to be the order of the day hey ho. It  is a wild garden but it is also messy but lovely,  a haven for the birds and bees, in fact at this moment am waiting for another lot of blackbirds to fledge, my nerves are stretched as lots of magpies about who I know have wiped out some blue tit boxes. my little male blackbird has been amazing, lots of screaming yesterday evening and this morning although the babies are shouting no sign of daddy when after getting soaked putting food out, he has turned up at last, honestly like a mother hen here.

My little baby girl blackbird from the first batch, who was damaged, still comes everyday to have her food, she gets chased off with mum and dad blackbird but she is a fighter and can now fly, oh dear now you know what has kept me sane during this lockdown time!!!!

Keep safe…

Morning All…

Good morning Jazzers and all…I do hope everyone is keeping to the rules so that soon we will be able to get back to some sort of normality.

Who knows when the jazz will be live again but lots of things going on to try and start as soon as they can.

Been lovely this week had some great  visitors what a treat to actually see people in the garden, because the weather improved. Or was it too hot too soon? ha ha never satisfied. Thank you to one and all, so strange after being on my own so much as a lot of you have been as well.

Thank goodness have managed to get some gardening done… glad the bin man managed to move my green bin  to empty because it took me ages to drag it to the end of the drive!!!

Also managed to get myself down town and do some much needed shopping like watch battery! not had watch going for over a year…whatever happened to winding watches! special bath foam from the health shop etc…Not happy with car park ticket machine thank goodness one of my friends told me that 30 minutes free did not mean no ticket, so quickly went back to machine and put the car number in got ticket and put in car phew.

Just a few random photos…Enjoy…

Birthday wishes to anyone who has one of those this week…

Pipers…remember that floor and wallpaper!

Morning Bloggers and Jazzers…

Good morning all …this is Friday not Thursday, but felt as not many look in to blog nowadays, and have not heard anything this week from the band members with any jazz news…decided to get out in the garden again instead…

Messages from Clover, Jan and Neil to wonder what has happened to me ha ha, so thanks to one and all …Whoops now got e mail from Christine as well…thank you Neil for some random photos and FB for sending a memory from 7 , and 4 years ago…with a few from the garden will pop them on…

Hope everyone is staying safe and keeping distance still, many people seem to have gone back to 'normal' what ever that is according to the TV people in and out of the country and lots on the beaches, while I am still trying to make myself get out to the little co-op shop, the old arthritis has stopped me from walking much, and the high heels are packed ready for the bin sadly. And all the floaty clothes for Jazz are in the bags ready for charity!

Luckily the garden is keeping me busy, have some help there,  for which I am grateful, but everyday there is  lots to be done,  good job I love it,  even if the knees back and head do not. It has been so good to have the sunshine. All the little plants I have grown are now in the beds, mmm will they survive! will have to wait and see, mine is mostly a wild garden that the bees butterflies and birds like,  I will not use weedkiller so therefore the weeds and I have a fight daily!!!!!

Thanks for phone call xx Happy Birthday to Duncan for Sunday xxxx

Stay safe one and all, maybe one day we will be meeting again…Keep Jazzing…enjoy the random photos…
