Sole Bay Jazz Band Happy Night…

It was a really good night of live music from the Sole Bay Jazz Band and friends last night at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…

Nice crowd even though a few spare chairs, but I hope everyone enjoyed the night and the music as I did… Good to have Martin playing for us again Tim and him make some great sounds on Clarinet and Sax… certainly seemed to be having a good laugh as well… Ray on piano…Alan on Guitar and Banjo…Craig giving his all on drums glad you feel better Craig…Tony what a great Bass player …and Simon back to sing for us, so proud that you are gaining that old zing back…loved the singing…

Martin has a great singing voice and the last number A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square… was rather good and of course Simon singing Keith's favourite song.

Good to see Kim, and what a great thing 'face time' is, as Sheila could not make it Kim face timed Shelia so she could hear Simon sing, and we could say hello to her. great idea Kimbles.

Thanks Clover another great Raffle and of course thank you all for digging deep as always…and of course to the ticker folders…

Sadly dear Joan passed away last Monday, so thank you Douglas for coming along and we all wish you the best she will be missed.

Young Bob and Mrs Bob were celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary… and the song the band choose to play was a bit saucy…'Who's sorry now" but luckily they thought is was great.

Thanks Sole Bay …Sorry did not get a photo of whole band…

Garden…

Nature has decided that the crocus look much better in the gravel than the garden…

I do not mind they look so cheerful …Even if the yellow ones are not out yet…

Jazz night…

This Thursday the 14th of February at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…

We had a rather interesting line up of Sole Bay and Cool Blue, first time for Barry on piano at the club although he sings with the band, and I thought it was a very good mix …of course it took a little while chatting to get the right notes at the right speeds and something that everyone knew, but they are good musicians so  I think it was so nice to have something a little different so well done to everyone, and of course Ray came along second half so we had the trumpet which I know a lot of you love, which made it more jazzy …and then the change of Barry singing with Ray on the piano another nice mix, and of course a little giggle when Tim announced that Ray was going to do a solo, and both Tim and Alan sat out always nice to have some fun.
Nice shirt Tim!

I had a couple of comments about my saying on here that some people talk loudly would put people off coming to listen to the jazz, but as I said it is a jazz night and we like to listen to the music…and I have written about the band and loud talking on many occasions since 2009 when I first started posting for the Sole Bay Jazz, and as I always say it is my opinion only… so sorry if I have offended anyone!

Lovely to see a good crowd coming along to hear the band…some new faces as well.

Thanks to Christine and Clover for doing the raffle again some lovely prizes which always gets you digging deep and so thank you from the band for supporting them. Also for the tickets folders thanks again.

Emily looking cute and thanks for helping with the change…

A couple of photos and Fudge has some on FB.

Sole Bay Jazz Band with friends…

A great night of very melodic Jazz and Blues from the Sole Bay Jazz Band and friends at The Sports Pavilion, Ditchingham.

Sorry did not add Ray on the line up but was not expecting him …however lovely playing from him on the piano as always…Tim keeping them all in line, some really lovely sounds from sax and clarinet…and it was one of those good music and fun evenings which we love. Always good to see Bill in the line up, great playing… Alan really enjoying himself on guitar and the banjo…Tony on that string bass some nice solo playing…Craig, bless had a terrible cough and cold but did well the first half, then Jason came along to help with the drumming, and was very good, thanks for that Jason…fitted in well…Barry giving us some lovely vocals added to the mix.

Thanks to Clover for doing the raffle (Christine hope you feel better soon) thanks Don and Jan for folding the tickets…

Happy Emily behind the bar, thanks for your help as always…

I was again saddened with the loud chatting especially during the solo playing and singing, however it is a social evening, just a pity more people do not talk 'quietly' and listen to the music instead, and that is my opinion and my blog so you can not deny me writing it!!!!

Glad you had a nice birthday Jen …

Sending get well messages to all those who are not feeling well, we are missing some lovely people who are now unable to get to jazz but we do think of you all.

We said goodbye to Horace on Monday a real gentleman gone with all those other jazzers to look down on us.

A few photos, and Fudge has some good ones on FB for those who look in there.

sorry about the head! could not crop this one…

Sole Bay Jazz Band night…

I unfortunately did not make it this week, to the Sole Bay Jazz evening and seems I missed a great night, not many people there, but those who were gave their best for the raffle so thanks to you all. Thanks Christine and Clover for the raffle and maybe Don folded the tickets as us stay away lot were not there to help.

The band played really well so everyone has told me, trust me to miss a good week even if I do not miss many… Tim …Ray…Alan…Craig…Tony…played … Barry sang also Ray played his trumpet for a few numbers and Barry went on the piano …from all the fed back I had it went down well, so hopefully that line will be there again when I can as well…

Fudge has let me borrow her photos from her Sole Bay Jazz Face Book… so those who do not do FB you can see them…

Just wanted to say thank you to Barry and Clover for sorting out the admin side as well.

Hope the weather improves next week as well as all the aches and pains we all seem to have.
