Thursday Jazz night!

Another Thursday without meeting you lovely Jazzers… but I do hope you are all keeping well and safe, and behaving not too badly. I do keep in touch  with some of you… so grateful for that.

Tony Nicholls has been keeping everyone happy with his lovely videos from the Sole Bay on Fudges Face Book page… so I have been trolling through the archives to bring some memories back, ha ha afraid lots of jiggling and bad videos however they do bring some fun I hope. pity as the sound on some are good, so you may have to close your eyes and just listen.

Cannot see any birthdays this week but then do not know everyones, so Happy Birthday to any of our faithful jazzers who may be celebrating this week.

But one birthday today to "TOM" wow 100 today…and a thank you to him for doing his walk… and all those who put money in for the people who are trying to save our lives… what a way to help, the old spirit shows through.

Hope you will all be out clapping tonight, I know a lot of people are thinking of ways to say thank you, and always see Simon Nelson out and playing…even our Derek Cubitt the other week…

I miss you all but hoping we will all be able to get the jazz going sometime, in the meantime you players, keep practicing, and stay safe, as Vera Lynn says… We'll Meet Again…

This little clip is from March 2015 our Simon who has overcome such a lot and is back singing and enjoying life with his Kim and family. and a hug to his Mum our Sheila…

Hello Jazzers…

It looks like we will be missing jazz for quite a while… but I know Tony Nicholls has been putting some good videos up on Fudges FB site, and I do hope that most people will be able to watch them, and pretend it is a Jazz night…Get the wine out …and pretend Emily is serving you that from the bar!

I have not got many videos that are good enough to put on here, but this one from 2013 even though it starts off with lots of talking and lots of rather jerking I promise you it gets better…

When Simon and Kevin and Chris came to play with the Sole Bay Band…and dear Keith and Sheila and Stella were always there.

There are a few birthday's coming up, and I am sad that I did not have an array of cards before had to self isolate…… however, on Friday wishing June ( of June and Les) a Very Happy Birthday…I will not say her age, but what a wonderful woman she is…Cheers June…

Christine one of our team who has been doing a great job on the raffle, and am sure will do so again when  her and Clover return when we start again…she is interned with her man,  who I am sure is looking after her well… at least she can have live music!…hope you have a really great Birthday Christine… may it not be long before we can say that to your face.

So Stay safe everyone and clap on a Thursday evening for all those who are helping so many people… How can we thank them enough…

Keep looking in… and hope all our lovely band will be practising ready for when this virus lifts…

I am missing my hugs!!!!so a big cyber hug to you all x

Morning Jazzers

Well another Thursday comes around, and no Jazz from Sole Bay Jazz Band…
for us at Ditchingham.

I do hope all of you are keeping yourselves well, safe, and happy in your own way.

Clapping on a Thursday night for all the people in NHS and every one who are looking after us old ones!!!

Thanks to all who are keeping in touch with me …I am behaving  (so far) tempted to get out, but as I have some great family who are doing shopping for me, I am looking after the garden, cooking, baking, and chatting on line… If the aches and pains were not so bad would be decorating as well, but have to back down for that one.

Sorry for those who I have missed sending cards for birthdays to, but I have been told I cannot go to shops!!!!so after this is over hopefully I can  make it up to you.

I have been looking back at some memories and have found Tony Jullings singing hope all those who have not heard this will enjoy, and have a smile…badly videoed as it was a long time ago, but dear Bill Skinner and our lovely Bill Brewer were playing with the band.

jazz and garden…

Good morning to all the lovely Sole Bay Jazz Band fans… It is a sad Thursday again with no Jazz, but I do hope all you musicians are practising hard for when we can all get together again later in the year.

I do hope you are all keeping to the rules and staying in away from the virus… also that  those on their own are as lucky as me to  have family who can help with shopping.

Some of my family have been very ill one of them a nurse, who has to quarantine for 12 weeks…so I am sure you are like me …just wanting  to say a grateful prayer to all those who are working for the NHS and of course all the unsung carers who daily have to care for people. Such a sad time,  but we must hope for a better time ahead.

Wonderful how the spirit of 'wanting to help' has gone out and seems people who have never met you want to help so a big thank you to them.

In the meantime so many lovely singers and musicians  have been on line for those with computers …laptops or posh phones!  And Tony made some great DVD's and is posting on Fudges Sole Bay FB page…to keep people who are not able to go into a garden to relax amongst nature.

I was sitting in my old summer house looking up the path, at the not yet pergola (not yet finished because of the virus!) and the branch holding the Wisteria up until it has the posts to help, the bluebells waiting to bloom…how lucky am I ……a few photos with a lot of weeding to do!!!!

Stay safe and see you all soon I hope.

No Jazz!

Another Thursday has come along without our jazz…

Just a hope that all of our Jazz friends are keeping well and safe. Also doing what you have been told to do!!!

Nice that Tony is putting on some videos on Fudges Face Book Sole Bay Jazz page.

So thought would try one from 2012 to bring back memories…cannot remember what it is like but here goes!

Wow… forgot it was not bad for my little camera… remember it taking so long to download unlike the nice phones that people have that do everything nowadays…Jenny sang so well and nice to see Ron again, Tim enjoying himself …Tony looking up… Ray on piano… Craig on drums and Trummy on trombone…that has brought back the old days when dear Keith was there as well…Hope you enjoy.
