A good night of live music at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, with the Sole Bay Jazz Band and guests…
Sadly not too many folk about, however those of us there enjoyed the music…
Some great playing as always, maybe a little more subdued than usual… but it could have been the weather after the heat wave they have been playing in on a Thursday evening… the welcome rain may have prevented a few more people coming along and it is always good to have a nice crowd to play to…however some vocals from Barry, also a visit from Simon Ashenden (hope I have spelt that correctly Simon) with his Sousaphone… a very different instrument to have at Ditchingham and a nice change…gave Tony a chance to watch! Thanks to all the band for a lovely evening of jazz…
It is good to see different people coming along and I know the band will always welcome a visit if you love playing jazz music to sit in with them for a few numbers, as they are very talented musicians who one could learn from, so do let Alan know if you are interested to play for a number or two with them.
Thanks Christine for the raffle another fine one… and of course for the ticket folding 'boys'.
A few photos Fudge has some good ones on FB as well…

What a shame that our friend and first class musician Derek C has to resort to a walker, still I suppose age catches up with us.Also the news about Ron Hocket.
On a happier note the trombone playing of Bill brewer......pure perfection, reminds me of the great Tommy Dorsey. A question for drummers who watch this space. Is it the norm when a drummer does a solo he has to use every drum in his kit ?
Hello charlie boy… Nice to see someone able to comment…Craig can use every drum he likes love his solos…Yes Bill is a melodic player a lovely man as well…Do not know how much longer Derek will be able to play it is a long way at his age to come along… In fact we none of us are getting any younger, maybe some younger musicians will come along to aid out great Sole Bay Jazz players…and some younger people to come and listen as well…Yes sad to hear about Ron we all enjoyed his music at the Pavilion, pity he had to go back to US especially with his health problems.
