The Chorus of St Cecilia…

The Festival Summer Concert last evening at The Minster Gt Yarmouth was as always with the Choir a wonderful talented one.

Thank you so much Jan, for taking me …Elizabeth, James and Max for my lovely surprise to see and hear you all now back in the Choir makes me so very proud.

What a glorious moving night, Matthew Hardy and his team work so hard to bring these great singers together and provide a wonderful sound.

Christopher Whiting on the piano what a talent he has.

Many years ago we saw a very talented singer… her teacher Matthew Hardy who saw her potential  and encouraged her as he does all his pupils… we went to see her and had goosebumps when she sang even at an early age…Hannah Long, she has gone on to win the title of Norfolk young musician in 2003 and many more awards and degrees ,has performed all over the country, a clever confident young lady now teaches singing herself, but she does come back to the Choir when she can, and what a voice the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and especially at The Minster her high notes sore round the Church.

The Junior Choir are so gorgeous you just want to hug them ,well we do when they have finished singing, they look like little angels!!!!Little mischiefs …

Last night it was popular classics and songs from musicals, also a tribute to one of their team who sadly dies this year and the Choir sang …All in the April Evening and may The Choirs of Angels which brought a tear to the eye…you felt she was looking down on the Choir …so good to see a packed church and the applause was huge as it should be a standing ovation … So thank you to everyone…

Sole Bay Jazz Fun night…

A very good session of talented Jazz and Blues last evening at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…

Some great playing and always good to see the band having fun as well…

Tim on Sax and Clarinet always so good …with Trummy who makes so many notes from the Trombone and Euphonium bring a special mix together, and of course our three back liners who play so wonderful all the time lovely to hear some good drumming from our Craig ! and Alan played that banjo really well last night and  the guitar… Barry I have to say you were a star on the piano and vocals, well done to Trummy and all the band for giving advice as they played some music you have never played, good to see and it made a special night!!!!

Some different music came out last night the 'hesitation' one worth a mention… lovely finishes as well thanks to one and all. I always say it but we are so lucky to have these sessions every Thursday.

A good raffle thanks for all who dug deep again as not so many there last night, hope you are ok June and Les did not know why you were not there? but Mavis and Peter came all the way from Bury St Edmunds at their ages not a short drive!!! We do have some great people who come along every week.

Thanks Christine and Clover for doing the raffle lovely prizes as always. Don for folding those tickets glad Jan gave you a hand with some of them…

Emily as always happily sorting the bar and helping me.

Nice that the carpet has settled and I did not spill anything on it although notice that some one else did! Loving the new blinds as well thanks Jon a good choice.

Hope all those unwell soon improve in health and can come back to us.

I took a couple of photos Fudge has a good one also on FB.

Sole Bay Jazz Night

A nice evening started well at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with the Sole Bay Jazz Band and got better and better, some really good music and singing, although not a very big crowd it was buzzing there so thanks Sole Bay Band and Guests.

Starting off with Tim…Barry…Tony…Alan…Derek…Gary… then Dave took a turn on the drums… and at half time Ray turned up and played trumpet… so all in all a very good night.

Thanks to those there who dug deep for the raffle much appreciated and for Don and Duncan for folding the tickets …

Thanks Emily great fun and thanks for your help…

Of course must mention the new carpet! which I christened with Tim's lime and soda! whoops but not too much! sorry Christine thanks for helping mop up! and I did buy Tim a new drink! Jon said there would be much worse as the years go on! Oh and the carpet had just been laid and the smell was rather overpowering, thanks Clover for getting the doors open…

Nice company and great music what more could you want…

Fudge managed some great shots with her good camera but my little cannon did not do too bad…although flash gets caught in the window!

Oh yes and a rainbow at the start even got the flies on the window!!!
