I really do not know where to start with a report on the Sole Bay playing last night at the Sports Pavilion…without putting all really fabulous words about what a great night it was…
So with guests Ron and Ray Simmons joining Tim …Craig…Tony…Alan…we were treated to a magical evening of live music… Tim had a programme sorted, so it all went from one good tune to another, lots of different tunes from what we have heard for a while…how well they all played, it sounded like a well rehearsed show, it is so wonderful to know that a few people can get together on a Thursday evening, and provide us with such musical talent. The music was still going round in my head for a long time as I am sure it was to those who were playing…
A big thank you to you all…Craig those drumsticks are not only magic they fly on their own!!! Tony on Bass those fingers working well… Alan back with us again on guitar and banjo, (your face Alan when I said I could not get on my blog to write up a report because my new hub had wiped my web out, you will be pleased to see that a new hub has arrived, and I have managed to set it all up and working well…so here we are)…
Ray on the piano with fingers flying along those keys… and what can I say about Ron and Tim playing their hearts out and sounding so good both on their own and together…A real pleasure gentlemen thank you…
Simon came to sing a few songs, and Roy did a couple of numbers the second half…
Thanks Heidi for providing the hard work behind the bar, and what a busy night it was, more new faces there, and lots of us regulars, so happy to see that most of the regulars bring their own chairs, pity they are so low to sit on, but better than standing, it seems that the word gets around that for the price of a raffle ticket ( the more you pay the more different guests can be invited to play , well and of course the joy of trying to win the top prize!!) ) One can be in a friendly place and listen to music that would cost a lot of money for tickets anywhere else…
I wish I had time to get the camera out, would loved to have done a video, but of course enjoyed the music so much forgot to get the camera out!
So hope to see you all next week…

Nice to have some of the Sole Bay Jazz Band back with us at Ditchingham last evening…
A good night of Jazz with some fun as well…
Yet another good crowd, although a few of the regulars must still be on holiday…but plenty there to enjoy the music and the singing.
Simon Denny came along, and sang us some melodies
very nice Simon…
Some good solo's from Craig and the flying drum sticks, and Kevin love that guitar… waited to hear Tony on the bass with a solo but maybe next week, very good playing from Tim, Derek and Chris…so thank you one and all…
Thanks Lisa for your hard work…and to those who give to the raffle, it enables the band to have a bit of pocket money, and always the thrill of winning that whiskey!!!
We would have to pay a lot to hear such good musicians each week so to get in free with just me making sure you all have your money ready is a small price to pay…
Thanks also Jan for finding enough space for all of us in the car! my turn next week.
No photos, it was one of those listening nights and forgot I had not taken any, so sorry boys…

Birthday Weekend…
A lovely weekend of fun… presents…cards…food…friendship…family…
My birthday this year has been rather special, so thank you one and all …for you know who you are…Getting older, but hopefully only on the outside! still young in my head…
Yesterday Jan took me for lunch, and visiting garden centre etc, we then went for a nice drive , to end up at the Tally Ho Teashop! always a pleasure to visit, so changed nowadays from when the Sole Bay Jazz played there, nowadays very back in time, and very nice… scones, jam, and clotted cream and tea for two, thanks Jan.
Today David drove me to The Fox and Goose a very very nice restaurant …The sun was shining after thinking it was going to be a rainy day. Have changed my photo thanks for taking it David, should have let you loose on the photoshop…
This is the back of the building it really was lovely…
Phil and Dawn were there to meet us (one of their birthday treats for me) with her Sons, Tom and Pete, what great boys such a fun lunch, and wow very tasty indeed, certainly a great place to eat, very tasty. Thank you staff for the birthday candle!
Hope the house hunting went well you four! looking forward to you all being settled.
Thanks again for everything…Love you all lots…

Sole Bay Jazz Band…
What a great crowd of people to come and support the Sole Bay Jazz Band last night at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…
After a terrible storm which I thought would keep a lot of folk away, the evening turned out very pleasant both in the weather and the music so …Thank you Sole Bay…
Simon Denny came along and gave us some great vocals… and several really wonderful solos were heard from the others…We also had a member of the audience to play harmonica, very nice thank you who ever you were did not catch the name…but see I caught you on camera!
Thank you Lisa you did a good job for Heidi, hope you enjoyed it…
My camera ( or is it me) played up so not as many photos as I actually took that I can put on here.
However the music and the fun between the band made for a great evening.
Thank you all for the cards and birthday wishes…Thanks Jan for taking us and for some of the goodies…
