SOUTHWOLD EVENING

My sister in law Jan (Happy Birthday Jan) took me to Southwold yesterday evening…

We love to go and eat fish and chips on the common when we can with the seagulls looking on hoping we are not going to finish the chips!…it was so busy a few weeks ago we could not even park, but we were lucky last night…

We then go for a walk from there to the pier which is a nice walk, lots of folk still about, plenty of Adnams being drunk by locals!

While we were sitting on the seat watching the world go by the sky was wonderful so here are a few shots from our walk…
It was like a rainbow glad it came out …
Have to have a photo of the lighthouse…
When we got back to the common the sky was gorgeous…
Walked a little further round…
I hope it comes across at least a little like it was…
This was how it ended up by the time we got home to Beccles…

Forgot this one of the pier we did go on it and had a yummy cup of coffee!

Thanks Jan for a great time lets do it again soon please…

Happy Birthday to a lovely lady who looks after a lot of people and never thinks about herself the world needs a lot more like you Jan.

Do not forget you can click on the photos to bring them up larger!

Jeans Birthday

I just noticed I did not put the cakes on for your birthday Jean, so a bit late but thank you and the 'coven' for including me in the celebrations I had a lovely time and your garden is great…
 as are you…
A great day with lovely friends and yummy food both at the venue and at your beautiful home…

6th September at the Pavilion…

Rather late getting a report on the Sole Bay Jazz Band today, but another good night of live jazz and blues music, we are so lucky to have such great musicians locally that give us some wonderful nights of music and the time to be with friends.

Ron…Craig…Ray…Alan…Tim missed Tony again, but his swing bass certainly was there…

Missed Craig and Tony off this one… what a photographer… however got Simon!

Got you this time Tony, whoops and Craig has turned into Dave who sat in on a couple of numbers…

How about this one Simon for your album?

Thank you Sole Bay it was a delight last night as no doubt you realized by the applause…
What a great crowd of people coming to support the band …nice to see even more new faces…as well as the regular crowd who are so supportive of the band and I know how much they love playing for us all.

Thanks as always to Heidi such a pleasure always smiling and coping with our needs, and Jon hope you are still happy you choose to have the Sole Bay at the Pavilion a lovely venue for us all.

I just want to add a personal wish…Sheila you know my dear how much we all think of you and I will be praying for your safe return after your operation, Keith you know as well we are there for you.
It has become like an extended family at the jazz  your family are very precious to you and have therefore become part of our big family of jazz lovers, so know everyone wishes you well
 and back soon.

Lifeboats…

I do not normally put two posts on in one day, but I would just like to advertise this event…

On Tuesday the 18th of September …Palmers of Lowestoft are holding a Fashion Show in aid of the Lowestoft Lifeboat.

It is being held at The Rookery Park Golf Club… Carlton Colville, Lowestoft …start time 7.30pm tickets at £6 include a complimentary glass of wine or juice.

I have always admired the brave folk that give their time to helping those in trouble and if you look back on my blog you can find some good photos of the lifeboat. My friend June is amongst others who help with the running of the little shop… all volunteers…

I have been lucky enough to help in a very very small way and the Strawberry Fair post will show what lovely people all help with raising money for the upkeep of the lifeboat.

So come and support the event as you never know when we or someone we love will be in need of their help.

Of late there have been many stories on the TV and radio about people getting lost at sea or even deaths but without the help of these good people there would be many more, so dig deep and spend a little time enjoying the fashion parade meeting friends and helping these fine folk.

Ring Susan Sewell on 01493 488268 for tickets, or contact me and I can put you in contact with other ways of obtaining tickets.

Keep watching this space for a great line up on Thursday for the Sole Bay Jazz Band!!!!!!

COOL BLUE…

Well you can see from the title that I choose the above venue for yesterday lunchtime, as did a great crowd, hope the same happened at the Angel where some more great musicians were playing…

Simon…Barry…Lin…Craig…Ian…Mick were all so good… some new songs that I had not heard them sing before as well…
Nearly got you with your eyes open Simon loved the song for Mum as well, very moving…

Lin I love you playing that sax  and hope you manage to find this blog at last, enjoy…
Barry wow you let it all go didn't you… some great vocals really upbeat great…
Mick such a great guitar player and this month on his bass, you all know how I love the guitar… well done Mick.

But it did not end there, Dave came along and gave us some numbers on the drums, and Mike F joined in with his clarinet so all in all a really good Sunday lunch…

As I have said a great crowd we are so lucky to have such fine musicians that give there time to make life so much better, and bring friends together to listen to them.

Thank you…
