October sunshine…

While the dust was showing up on the furniture indoors in the lovely sunshine coming through the windows …  Jan rang and we decided it would be a shame to waste that lovely air! so off we went…

The river side is a lovely walk and always beckons on such a nice day, we were amazed at the amount of people taking advantage of it as well, lots of cruisers still up and down the water lots of waving and helloing (is that a word) to everyone, how lucky are we that this is just down the other side of town…and yes the river looked that blue most of the walk…

The swans were  running on the water and then sliding amazing to watch …The Waveney Stardust Cruiser was still taking folk up the river… Dogs swimming happily…young girl in her canoe…lovely trees…

Thanks Jan great walk, did us the world of good… feet up time now! ha ha

Morning walk…

Had to go to the opticians this morning and the car park is down by the river, so thought I would take a couple of photos, lovely day, not such good news on eyes but a 6 month appointment instead of a year so a bit deflated…But the sun is shining and the garden awaits…

We are so lucky to have such a lovely walk here in Beccles…

River Walk…

This morning the weather turned nice, a bit of cold wind, but more sunshine…Jan and I decided to forget the housework and go for a walk, nearly 2 hours walking along side the River Waveney, chatting and waving to all the holiday makers on the boats… very nice, walked round the marshes a bit as well when you get past the yacht station it is a bit rough going… if you look in Chris it was nice to see you…see you tomorrow night I hope.

If you open this up the White house in the background is where we got to… the river curves there…we call it Boater's Hills but no doubt it has a proper name, been well done up since we were children and used to row up there and swim in the river… in those day hardly saw a cruiser…Now it is full of them, still a good holiday especially in the nice weather…Not many people wearing life jackets though!

Have to take a Swan of course, the other one was further up, mates for life these Swans!

Back to the housework now!

Evening July Walk

A lovely walk on a Saturday evening with a cool breeze blowing after a hot humid day, took these few photo's hoping they would show you what a great little place Beccles is....

These two geese decided to pose for me!

Seems so peaceful doesn't it...

Not as good as some people can take. (Dive and Katie) but have done my best with my little camera...

Nice lot of boats in for the summer..

Great little piece of local news that should get some people to the Beccles Museum!
That is if they get this far up the river bank......

RIVER WAVENEY

We went up the river when we had our cousin staying and thought you might like to see a few of the shots..

This swan did not like the fact we were rather close to its little ones!!!!the noise was loud!!!

They were very busy preening....

This is the view from the boat as we came into our quay at Beccles...thought the reflections were rather nice.....

Looks like I have posted this twice, but it is calm!!!

These are the base of the old railway crossing, all gone now the railways but these bridge supports have lasted for many many years.....

This is a black swan not seen around on our river often, and this one has white tips to its wings....

I am rather proud of this one pity my dear little camera is not as good as some, but just managed to catch the swan on its take off....

Lovely day thanks Jan and so glad Rosemary and Russell loved it....
