Henham Steam Rally

Not a health and safety person about here! wow the saw cut through the wood so quickly, scary! No guard!
Just one of the steam rollers, I was going to take them when they were all in the ring, but my batteries ran out on the camera...
A morgan car, 3 wheels. we named our dear old cat with 3 legs after one of these!
One for the boys ..Wymondham with our accent called windam here!
Only one shire horse that I managed to get, but on my last years post, there are some lovely suffolk punches. this one looks like it is eating some visitors!
An owl taking a quiet time out, the birds were lovely, and they flew a hawk later, but as I said no camera, that will teach me to check batteries first.
However a great day out sun was shining although a lot of wind blowing, well done to all involved hope you made lots of money.

Met up with a nice lot of friends as always, such a good turn out, and the weather stayed good for the Sunday as well.

Grand Henham Steam Rally 2009

Another year gone by, and back to Henham again, last year mainly old buses was the theme, this year gorgeous horses......as well as the steam engines as always....
The love and care that they put on these machines is remarkable...
This is girl power!!!!
Think they outgrew this one!
This is Rocky, he was so calm, as were all the Suffolk Punches..... we sat on a straw bale and watched them parage round, and they are great in everyway.....
The lady driving this carriage has lovingly restored it but the horse she obviously loves and it was so smart...we watched the classic cars as well, but think I put them on here last year....
Do not remember seeing this last year.....there were lots of woodcutters of course and some of their work was wonderful...
In the tents were the crafts, amazing how good some people are, lace making and spinning wheels, could not take photo's of everything, but all the old crafts there....

Plus those great steam organs playing away all the time, very nice indeed...

And of course meeting lots of old friends as one wandered around, always great... (and if you are looking in Bev and Tony sorry we missed you, at the hog roast, but thanks for the lovely evening last night.).....mmmmm ..yes the hog roast, (sorry vegetarians)....was yummy.
This of course is what it all used to be about getting troshed! how they managed to keep this going each year is amazing....just imagine what it used to be like for all those farm workers.....

Thanks for taking me Ivan I know how much you wanted to go, and I said I didn't ....but I really did enjoy it all.....

These next two pics are really for Lesley and Eric (our favourite Littledoggie)....... as he loves his ice cream as well!!!
They certainly got through them in a hurry......
These buxom ladies were with the lovely people who dressed up to parade in the main ring...
