Not many attending although a few new faces appeared, must be a lot on holiday…But think the crowd enjoyed the evening (ha ha apart from Allans jokes!!Sorry Allan)
The Band all played well and must mention Derek bless him as he did a couple of solos which were lovely…Bill as always a pleasure to hear makes that trombone sing…Ray on those keys some great playing as always…Allan some good playing and vocals always gets the band to have a solo…our back line as ever they play all the time and never get a break and they are really great, some good drumming /bass playing and banjo & guitar…Then in walked Barry so we had some great vocals from him which were really good… so thanks band as I said pity a few more were not there to appreciate them.
Ray did a little special to celebrate our Clover's birthday…
Thanks Clover you did well, with the raffle again… thanks Jan for helping me with the folding…it is always hard when new faces appear as they think they have walked into a jazz band with a raffle attached and no entrance fee…well of course they have but not many places can you walk in and hear such talented performers and we do rely on the raffle ticket money and Jon to allow the very good musicians to play for us, so hopefully if they come back they will dig as deep as all you lovely fans do and we do have a rather good raffle which adds to the music!
Lots of noise from chatter but suppose have to bear with that sometimes, rather spoils it when people talk very loud but a shame when the band are playing solos…

I hope all those who are unwell soon improve and come back to us again…
Now I must say again that unfortunately there will be no Jazz next week the 24th May as the Sports Pavilion has something on… but will be back for the 31st with another good line up from Alan… so please let people know if you look in here and know someone who does not read my blog…how dare they not!
