Jazz at the Club…
A rather good lunchtime of jazz and blues at the Conservatory Club in Beccles today…
The Footwarmers as were are really no more… No Mike or Bill…however Roy- Ian -Dave- Barry -Brian -kicked up a storm.
As time goes on of course we lose some of our talented players hopefully to be replaced, but today was Dave Taylor's time to play his drums for us one last time, time to grow old gracefully he says, we all send our love Dave and thank you for all your hard work, not an easy job to move drums and set up and be the last to leave a gig, we will miss you. But expect you to be in the audience now!
Barry gave us some great piano and vocals, Brian on bass, Ian on Sax and vocals as well as Roy on sax and vocals, voice has come back we hear Roy well done.
The thing about these guys is it is always good and really happy with lots of fun.
Not much of a crowd however lovely to see some of the Thursday night crowd from The Sports Pavilion coming along…there is always a good raffle to be had at the Club as well. As well as Burgers!
I find it a bit sad that some people think that Jazz is just one thing …it marries so many different styles of music, so lets get a few more people listening to these gentlemen who give up their time to play live music.
The Beccles Conservative Club is a good venue come along next month and give it a try, it is open day so not just members are welcomed.

Sole Bay Jazz with Friends…
Another great night of live music from the Sole Bay Jazz Band and Friends, at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…
I must apologise to Alan as left his name off the line up last week! whoops… sorry Alan have added it rather late! Happy Birthday for next week.
Thanks to one and all, nice to see a good crowd coming along to enjoy live music, it was so good to hear all those gentlemen playing so well and looking happy …you were all great.
As most of the regulars know Ron Hockett will be going back to America at the end of the year, (hope you do not mind me putting that Ron)…so we are very lucky to have him come and play for us, and hopefully will be back again next week so do not worry. He had one of his American friends with him who tells me he looks in on the blog when he is home in the USA so thanks for that. Hope you still will when you have Ron back there.
Thanks Clover and Chris for doing the raffle, and of course the ticket folders, also Heidi for all her help and happy smile. Fudge should be back next week, we have missed you young lady!!!!am sure you Jess and Robin will be looking on here.
The Coven table was great …lovely to see Halloween celebrated in such a happy way, I hope someone took a photo I did not get a chance so you will have to look back to last years to see how good they looked then.
Sorry Tony if I kept forgetting you had the camera set up! lots of people taking photos last night as well.
How great to see Simon, Kim and Sheila again, never the same without them, and good to know you are getting better Simon, we all are all wishing for you to come back and sing for us. Mood Indigo always seems better with you singing it, even though it reminds us all of Keith, that is a good thing. Keep up the good work…
Sadly next week some of us will be saying farewell to one of our dear friends Don Friston who has been such a great supporter of the Sole Bay Jazz, what a great fight you put up Don we love you and you will be missed, and the lovely tunes you always requested. We seem to have lost a lot of dear friends of the jazz over the past years so hope you are all looking down and enjoying it from afar.

All to keep us enjoying these Thursday evenings of live music with good friends.
Lovely Heidi kept busy even without our Fudge! hope the cold soon gets better x.
I have to say we had some sad news about one of our dear regulars, and I know a few people are suffering from illness, so for everyone we send love and pray you will be able to fight that dreaded disease…and come along when you can to relax with the music.

How lucky are we to have such a great line up each week and last evening was a bit special with some really talented musicians and lovely solos with added vocals from Chris Capucci, always a good laugh with Chris.
Ron Hockett will be going back to America soon so we were especially pleased that he played last evening and will be playing in a couple of weeks for us, Tim and Ray as always great together with Ron, and of course our great back line of Alan Craig and Tony.
Some of the band were not feeling so good so we were really pleased they got through the evening for us. Thank you so much for a great night of live music.
Thanks Clover and Chris for doing the raffle…Heidi you did well with all the mishaps that happened before you got started.
A good crowd came along which was nice to see…Sorry to hear yet another regular is unwell, just hope all will be well. Sending good wishes to all our lovely people who are now unable to get to the jazz, we think of you all each week.
Missed our Fudge!!!! but hope you are enjoying your holiday, Well done Robin once again another marathon medal.
Just a couple of photos several folk took some which probably came out better than mine but here goes.

Sole Bay Jazz Song Book Night…
Last evening at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, the Sole Bay Band and guests gave a good crowd a rather dishy American Song Book style musical night.
It seems that some of the music was not known in the right key to some of the musicians! which made it rather fun, and made one realise just how good these gentlemen are at their craft. So thanks to them all.
Nice to see a good crowd to support these fine musicians and I am sure they all enjoyed the different evening of live music.
A good raffle thanks to Clover and Chris, and the raffle ticket folders…
Heidi as always a nice smile, even if you were cold Heidi.
And of course thanks to Fudge and Hannah Mae for popping in with the Twins before the music so Heidi and me could see them in the flesh so to speak! They are gorgeous. And I got to hold Bella and got a grin from Lola.
