Halloween at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham last evening, was fun with some really good live music and singing.
As they always do The Coven Table came into their own, also allowed me to be part of the hat wearing , which proved to be a bit of fun, certainly managed to get a nice lot of raffle money for the band!
Which I will just mention here, that from next week, Tim and I will be managing the raffle, with of course the help from the folders and friends… Dear Keith was going to hand it over last Christmas but he did manage until the week before he left us all, (although he will always be there at the jazz), Simon has been carrying on, but the busy young man has now handed it over, thanks Simon for all you have done. Tim and I will try to keep the books and the raffle going for everyone, and if I am unable to get there, we have a back up plan with a very nice lady who lives close, and I will gradually get her acclimatised to all your little raffle secrets over the coming weeks.
I must say a big thank you to those who do give prizes for the raffle and we look forward to that continuing in the future so that we can raise as much money to help Alan find musicians that keep the band coming along each week to entertain us all.
Our thanks to Sheila who has donated the money which was outstanding to Keith, into the kitty for the future, so lovely to see her their each week, and long may it continue.
Such a nice friendly evening and the talkers stayed at the back ( unfortunately upsetting a few)… But a nice musical evening, with Simon giving us some good vocals as well as Tony P…
A few photos from Simon (thanks) and me…The witches with Ian's head in the way ha ha,
Jean always closes her eyes! you were all great thank you…Looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos…
Heidi doing a grand job as always…Lovely evening with friends thanks to all…
So glad to see a few of our (invalids) coming back also those who are still bandaged up, so sorry that some of the regular fans are still too poorly to come along, but I know they are thinking of us all, and we of them. Also one person to mention good luck to …one of our plucky men who has to face yet another operation, good luck …you know who you are, and we wish you well.

A great crowd turned out to listen to the Sole Bay Jazz Band last evening, and I hope everyone enjoyed the evening, I thought it was really good, every week something different, some tunes I had never heard of some favourites all played with talent and a lot of fun as well…
Simon sang us some lovely songs which is always a pleasure.
Such a very enjoyable evening… great to hear Tim and Ron on the 2 clarinets, also 2 saxophones , really sounded so good, Ray some great playing on the piano, and our 3 intrepid back line … the drumming was rather nice Craig especially when they were not expecting it!! thank you all.
Thanks to everyone for digging deep for the raffle, I know I say this a lot but of course it helps Alan to get great musicians to play each week.
Simon and Jess sent me some photos and I took some as well… I did a little video may be able to put that on later.
Heidi as always lovely smile! Hope all those who are unwell will be able to come along next week.

Sole Bay Jazz Band…
Last night at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, another different and excellent evening of live music…
Sorry here I go again! Once again spoilt for a lot of us by the constant loud chatter, but I would remind some of the lovely crowd that come to listen to the music, that although we all chat please try to not talk all the time especially when the musicians are playing solos… I feel it is very rude to do that, and we have such great fans, it does spoil it for a lot of folk…
Maybe I should try to be more tolerant but it does upset a lot of the fans…
Also this is just me in answer to someone saying it was a public bar, I would tell him it is a Social Club that on a Thursday evening we have live music! and they say woman do all the talking! Who by the way did not talk when Stella sang a couple of songs! maybe a man thing! Rant over!
Right back to the great evening, thanks to all the talent we had playing for us, it was a lovely evening of, as I have said, different music, great to see Bill Skinner back, playing so well…and Bill Brewer plays so many lovely notes on that trombone of his…Tim as always holding it all together, and telling those little antidotes!! in between such talented playing… Ray on the piano seems to find so many great notes that he puts together with those clever fingers of his …really lovely…
We also had Simon to sing some great songs again for us, you know how we appreciate you Simon.
Our three at the back Alan… Craig and Tony keeping the beat as always, how lucky are we…to have live music for just the price of the raffle, which I once again thank you all for the great deep digging you do to help support the band… Also I must thank some of the fans who provide some lovely prizes to add the the raffle being so good.
Lovely evening thanks to some of my lovely friends and of course the Band…
Thanks Heidi and your helper… as always smiles …

Sole Bay Jazz Band…Fun…
This week the Sole Bay Jazz Band played to a good crowd at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham…
A different mix again brought with it some lovely music and singing which we all enjoyed…
A lot of chatting all through the music again but suppose we must expect that …it is a social club after all, although a bit rude when a soloist is playing… but most people really
enjoyed the evening…
We had as well as Simon Nelson singing, Chris Capocci came along, great character is Chris, and then Mel Cox sang his …what I call his Ipswich melody! Nice that the whole band joined in with some nice silly melodies!
Great playing it all gelled rather well so another great evening of live music…
Nice to see Sheila looking a bit more like her lovely self, strange for her and everyone that Keith is not sitting there, but he is there in spirit…
Still missing a few of the regulars who are unwell so hope they all soon feel well enough to attend soon…
Thank you to everyone for digging deep for the raffle, nice that it is for the band but also nice that we have a good giggle about it.
Working well… our Heidi behind that bar again…nice smile as always…
Nice to see newly engaged and young folk…Jess and Ted, sorry the song choice that came after the announcement was Someday you'll be sorry…but what a great happy evening for you all, have to say well done Fudge for the speech!
Oh yes and well done Robin for once again running yet another marathon and coming 2nd in your age group, great respect.
Thanks to one and all, and as always will say how lucky we are to have such fine musicians to play for us each week… Thank you Sole Bay Band…
