Well yet another great night at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham with the Sole Bay Jazz Band…
What a great lot of talent we have on our doorstep, a very good upbeat and happy evening with the live jazz band…
Ron was playing his new (old 1925) Saxophone, with Tim on his new (old 1926) saxophone, lots of great music from those two on the front line, with Craig, Tony and Alan backing with their usual beat, and Ray on the Piano what a line up, and then we had a visit from Simon Denny, a long time since he has come along and given us some great vocals with the Sole Bay Band, and he did a grand job, lots of different songs…
Ron also gave us a wonderful solo … new music for the band, and as they played whilst reading the music for the first time clever lot…, and it brought the place to a lovely quiet breathtaking moment until it finished when everyone cheered! …Thanks Ron.
Thanks to Heidi for once again keeping them all in order!
What a great crowd again this week, and I am sure they would all like to say a big thank you to the band, such a friendly venue and wonderful people come along to the Thursday night Jazz, live music is great and to have it so close to home is a real bonus…
Maybe as my photos are so bad, I am wondering if the lighting does not help. (could just be me)!I did have a word about some sort of spotlights or softer lighting, instead of the overhead light, another little something maybe good as it is difficult to see with those lights, we shall see! but it does not really detract from the playing, just us in the audience.
So if you have not been over to see and hear the Sole Bay Jazz with a different line up each week, you do not know what you are missing…
I know a lot of people are finding it hard to leave a comment on this blog, I have no idea why not as some people do manage it, but I do appreciate all those who comment even if some have to tell me and not write on the blog, so thank you, glad to be able to promote such great musicians…

BECCLES CONSERVATIVE CLUB…
This lunchtime at the BCC The Footwarmers provided a very lively up beat jazz session. I did not take photos but David has done a bit of video magic, so there will be some good laughs and music soon!
Live music is so good and we had a varied line up, with Mike, Bill, Barbara, Tony,Dave, Ray. Chris, and they made some great sounds.
The Club was nicely full and so pleased that a lot more people are deciding to join this year, it is a great building and really nice friendly people.
So thanks Footwarmers, great live music…

Thanks to our wonderful photographers that keep their eyes on the Norwich City Peregrines, there are some great shots from them as always…So just a couple of many that they have taken this year. and of course the Peregrines are already mating so eggs should arrive in a short time, so wonderful to watch wild birds so close.

Upbeat Sole Bay Jazz…
Each week at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham, the Sole Bay Jazz gentlemen plays great live music for all us fans… weekly we have a variety of talented people, thanks to Alan who makes sure he gets a different line up each time…
I say it so often… but must admit we are so lucky to have such talented people who gives a good show every Thursday evening…
We have a great support team who every week come along and cheer the band on, it gets more like a Club each week and such a friendly one at that, this week we had three more 'new folk' and they were thrilled with the music, as we all are, so thanks once again to the musicians who make it so enjoyable.
Thanks to Heidi for all she does, and your new recruit who did very well…
It is such a pleasure to meet up with good friends and hear great music, so I say again thanks to everyone for making Thursday evenings so great…
This week we had young Simon back with his cornet and vocals, and think we all had a good giggle at the 'I want a little girl' it is really getting sad that we are not allowed to enjoy the old songs without having to think about it being not in good taste nowadays.
Jenny gave us a couple of songs… well done Jenny lovely to see you getting better we all admire you.
I must say another thank you for all of you who put up with me getting you to donate to the raffle, love the fact that nowadays the money is usually waiting for me, so I do not have to ask…Even Tim does not have to say 'ignore Beryl at your peril' these days!…it is of course for the band although we do have a few prizes thanks to Keith sorting them each week……and without it we could not keep these talented men coming along to play, in this day and age everything is so expensive so every penny helps. although if you gave me a penny you would not see me smile!!
So hope to see another good crowd next week…

Sole Bay Jazz…
On a very wet and windy Thursday night at the Sports Pavilion Ditchingham,.
The Sole Bay Jazz played up a storm…
The car park was flooded, but many folk managed to park and so a nice crowd came along and listened to yet another different line up.
The photos have not turned out well again, not sure why, however along with the line up in the post below, we had a few songs from Allan Bradley who got the audience joining in and Roy with his usual romping songs! …
Everyone played a nice upbeat selection of music…Great how we have such talented musicians, that can join in and play so well together…
Some great solos from Tim playing one of my favourite numbers…Derek as always showing us age is just a number, and of course Craig drummed up a great finish!
Thanks as always to The Sole Bay Gentlemen, and of course Heidi…
I did have a sit on one of Neil's garden chairs, thanks ha ha did not think I would get up again…so even though it was a terrible night of weather, you still filled all the chairs up…The Sole Bay I know thank you as always for coming along to live jazz.
Hope the weather will be much better next week…
