Just had to write a thank you to my dear Jan for taking us out last night to the local Public Hall to see "Return to the Forbidden Planet"
Jan said we should support the local shows so we can keep the place going, so many halls have been closed down through lack of support...so she got us tickets,
We did not have much of an idea of what it was all about, but have to say well done to all involved, it was really great...
"Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece"
And Dive it could have been you playing telstar!! great guitarist..
The whole hall had been made to look like the inside of an intergalctic Starship Albatross.....
Stewart White our local news man was on the big screen introducing it, in good Shakespeare talk!!
They went through the start of the flight, and showed us what we all had to do to help if the ship lost power, and believe me they even put the lights up and everyone was doing the hands in the air and other little bits to get it going again, what a laugh, the audience was very varied from children, teenages, to middle age and OAP's, and it was really good..Even the programme was called 'in flight magazine.'..
Apparently the show was first produced in 1980....and Shakespeare's script and lyrics.. well do not think he wrote 'Great Balls of Fire' or 'Good Vibrations" but everything fitted so well.
So thank you Waveney Light Opera Group , because you really deserve a medal for such a performance.. and you will see us at your shows again I am sure...
Thanks again Jan for a great evening, and for ferrying Ivan and I as well.. Hope D realised what he had missed.... especially the parts that were on loan from Flixton Air Museum....
