Another good evening of the Sole Bay Jazz Band…
Thanks as always to those that ferry us back and forth, it is so appreciated, and such a shame there are not more people who can bring folk who cannot now drive to get to the venue, as these musicians play their hearts out to us loyal few.
Thanks to Christine and Clover collecting for the raffle again, to Fudge who always finds good names for the colour of the tickets! and the fun…
As not so many folk coming …Kelly who does the bar, is not so busy which means John who lets the band play there is unable to provide as much discount… and therefore the raffle is very important, I used to do the raffle and books so I appreciate how hard it is to provide a little something for the band…who lets face it do not play for the money…but many travel a long way to play for us all. everyone who comes along pays much more nowadays, but as there were so many more people in those evenings, the raffle was easier to provide more prizes! I try as some do to contribute to the prizes now and again, maybe if more could provide some beer or bottle of wine, even chocolates that would be a big help…

A little bit of of extra news! Just rung June of June and Les!!! and good news, Les should be coming home from hospital today, he is such a trooper, can't wait to get home to his June, as soon as he is well enough their family will make sure he gets back to jazz, and he wants to thank all those that sent cards for his birthday …

Another great evening from the Sole Bay Jazz Band at Ditchingham …
Have to admire our wonderful team of the Sole Bay Band, as with just 5 of them and Barry singing, they played their hearts out for us. Obviously not many folk there to hear them as usual nowadays, but they were all so good as always
JJ and I were lucky to be ferried back and forth to Jazz again…so have to thank as always for those who look after us.
I told Jenny I would be writing this on here, as she used to sing for us with the band, her daughter brought her, …since Terry her hubby died Jenny has been in a lovely home that takes care of her, it was so good to be able to see her again. Did manage to get a couple of photos of some of the gang that have followed Sole Bay, so with their permission will pop them on after Fudges great photos of the evening. Well maybe not JJ as she doesn't like her photo taken!!!
Thanks to Tony for the videos as well certainly are a pleasure to watch.
We had a bit of fun!!!! trying to fit 2 wheelchairs round the tables without upsetting others.
Kelly's birthday was celebrated with the band playing while we sang to her!
Clover and Christine as always with the raffle, while Fudge did her fun bit trying to shake those tickets up…and as usual mainly the same folk winning, which always brings a cheer!!!! But all good fun…
Sorry to hear from Tim that one of the lovely regulars had a fall and was in hospital, Les is a great gentleman, so from everyone we all are sending him a swift return to health, June we are thinking of you, take care.

We have had some wonderful friends who are now looking down and enjoying the music, we miss them all…So glad that some folk are still alive and kicking on these photos!

A much better evening at the Jazz this week, The Band as always were great, but also a few more people there which made it much cosier, Fudge has sent some great photos, so big thanks to her.
Thanks Clover and Christine for the raffle and Janice for folding those colourful tickets, Fudge makes it good fun, people saying they need to be shaken up a bit more, just like they always used to say when I used to do it, remember shaking the bag once and they all fell on the floor!!!!!
Kelly a bit busier behind the bar, with her smile…even if the end of the evening is making coffees! Because people have to drive.
Thanks as always for the lifts JJ and me have, much appreciated, Stuart, Sandy and Neil. Barry brings people as well, every little helps. Such a great evening meeting up with lovely friends listening to talented musicians. Plus a harmonica tune from Geoff, Barry and Amanda singing some good songs, so all in all rather good!!!
Nice that Tim led the band so we could sing Happy Birthday to Les, June and him are like us all …love the evenings of jazz.
As a nice lot of folk look in, I do talk to some who do not bother with the blog, but hopefully those who do can feel the happiness we all feel. Also will find some more memories from the nights gone by. My computer is like me getting rather old, so the photos have to come in no particular order, but they are all important…Also Tony was busy videoing so look forward to them on FB.
