Sole Bay Jazz…

I know I do keep saying on here, how lucky we are that on Thursday nights at the Sports Pavilion, Ditchingham. The Sole Bay Jazz Gentlemen perform for us all, but we who love live music are getting treated to some really great talent. You would have to pay a lot to get such a good night of music as we enjoyed last evening…

Ron …Tim …Craig …Ray …Alan …Tony… played us a great evening of upbeat music and fun…
With Roy and Jenny giving us some lovely vocals…

What a great crowd as well, I know the Band appreciates the fans, and so you who look on here will know how much it means to them… But I know that we who go to the live music get such a lot from them. Music is great and so are all you who come along to the sessions. It has turned out to be like a friendly Club, where we can meet people who like music and good company.

Thanks Heidi another busy night, and you cope so well…

Beccles Conservative Club Jazz…

Sunday lunchtime The Footwarmers played up a storm to match the weather, but much more enjoyable!

They played a great menu of songs and music, and all to a very appreciative audience, in fact I do not recall so many people in the room!

Thanks gentlemen for a really entertaining 3 hours. Roy you did a great job as usual with the songs!

The photos did not come out well, but that was my fault. They all  looked rather serious, but it was a real fun time…

Mike

Roy
Love the tie Bill
Tony/Ian
Peter
A smiling Dave…
Roger was very busy with the bar, and the food went down well for those who had that, and so nice to see it delivered on plates, thanks for that …

The Club is starting to pick up again and Jim did give out some of the forthcoming events, hope a nice lot of local folk join again this year as it is such a good venue, and the old fact that if one does not use it you will lose it applies.

Good crowd always nice to see, and I know how much the guys thank everyone for turning up each week…

Heidi, you did a great job as aways coping with all the people etc, always a lovely smile on your face…

Thanks for the good company and the help with folding all those raffle tickets boys… it is so good that we are able to have free entry to these talented musicians, but it is a great help to be able to assist the band by buying a ticket, or in the case of some of you who I manage to set  the moths free to persuade you to support with a little more! Thank you all…

Nice that you had a happy birthday Marian xx

Thanks Sole Bay great evening… you did a good job with the line up Alan…thank you, it is hard each week to find the musicians to play every week, and although it is always good despite what I sometimes say on here,… ha ha only my own opinion…this week was a good one all round.

Sole Bay Jazz Plus…

This Thursday evening at Ditchingham Sports Pavilion…was a very different one than usual, very talented gentlemen, rather orchestral…Lots of new arrangements, and some music we had not heard for a while…

A really good crowd again, and very full considering a lot of the regular people were absent, we need a few more tables and chairs Jon!! ha ha I know you read this!

Thanks Heidi as always a lovely addition to our Thursday nights…

I think everyone enjoyed the talent of the musicians … I know I did…  I suppose my only thing was, as I am re learning the piano at the moment, and finding a lot of concentration going into reading the music myself, that it seemed  a shame that even with all the great music coming out, I personally felt sorry that everyone was having to read music, and as I state this is only my opinion, and a very humble one at that, because I admire all of the players…

I think one can see by the photos that everyone was busy concentrating on the music, much more clever than I am as I still struggle to see my sheet music!, but as they were playing set arrangements it was to be expected…

Some great vocals from Tony Parsons and a bit of laugh with the lyrics…

I must remember to wear warmer clothing at the gigs, as it was a bit arctic last night, sorry Jon, but several of us could have done better to have a dance to keep warm, or is it my old blood getting thin!

However the venue is such a good place and great company, so I do apologise for those who were not cold and enjoyed every minute of it all…But as usual it is my little diary, so sorry if you are offended by my comments…I hope you are not,  as I do everything I can to support all the musicians, but nice to be able to comment on the different aspects…otherwise you would not bother to look in………

More Peregrines

I had to just pop one of the gorgeous photos that Skip took yesterday and put on the Hawk and Owl site, thanks Skip, know a lot of folk follow the birds on here…

So looking forward to the Spring and a new lot of eggs! Such a great lot of people watch the Peregrines and we are so glad you and Jamie take these great photos, I know at least one of my family are green with envy over the camera as well…!!!!!

Looking forward as well to meeting up at the Cathedral again this year with like minded folk…

NORFOLK DIXIELAND JAZZ

Yesterday I was invited to see the Norfolk Dixieland Jazz again at 'The Goat'… Skeyton, and what a great gig that was…Vic…John…Tim…Pete…Liz and Bill…played a great session…

Thanks Tim for taking me, and for lunch, so good to meet up with some of my friends there, such a lovely place as well. Thanks Jean , Judy and Ann for as always looking after me…

I did take some photos, but afraid they are not good enough, even though they looked, as always, good in their Blue…it was hard to get near the band as so many people there, but of course that is so good for the pub and restaurant, and they really appreciated the live music…

So if you are interested in a good meal and live Jazz music, the next gig date for the Norfolk Dixieland Band is March 2nd… but you will have to book if you want a meal…

Thanks again to everyone for a great lunch time… also pleased the weather was kind to us all.

Sole Bay Jazz…

Another great night of live music from the Sole Bay Jazz Gentlemen, great to see a very appreciative audience. Some more new faces, we will have to get Jon to find us more chairs!!

A nice mix of arrangements, and some great playing from these talented musicians…

Roy gave us some good vocals and Craig kept them all going especially at the end when I thought the front line would run out of puff, but hope they heard that great applause…

Ray as always such a great piano player, and Tony good to hear some nice bass from you… Alan giving us some banjo and guitar, and of course our two front line… talented Ron Hockett and
Tim Densham, they certainly make a great team.

Thanks as always to Heidi, always calm with a great smile for everyone, such a great family of people that come each week to hear the music, how lucky are we, and especially how lucky I feel to be able to call so many of them friends.

I wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year and lots of lovely Jazz from The Sole Bay Jazz…
